This is one of the most random pubs I have been to in a long time. The place is massive. When you walk in you are greeted by this wonderful fire. If only that was in the main pub rather than the hall, it would be amazing. The pub has loads of great little nooks and crannys spread out over 2 floors. You could easy get lost in here. But its the kind of place that you might have a chance at finding a free table, if you go searching. I have heard they also do a great Sunday Carvery, but I have not given that a go just yet. Watch the stairs, I did see someone fall down them, stairs and alcohol are not the best combo!

This is my local pub but I hadn’t been there for years as I always go out in city centre. It’s a typical Dublin local pub with a bar and a lounge. But what is different now is the outside terrace which was petty hopping for a Saturday night in the suburbs. Seems like people in the area are happy to come here for a bit of music and dancing which is nice to see. The drinks are the usual and prices are average. Staff are pretty nice too except if you try to bring in chips from the next door chipper!

Mmmm, spicy buffalo wings! That’s the first thing I associate with the Carpenter, because they do great wings, but the rest of the food isn’t that nice. The pub is right behind a 37 busstop, so it’s easy to get to and perfect for a wee break when you’re waiting for the bus yet again. The Carpenter has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the staff are nice and efficient. It’s a lovely spot for a few quiet pints in the evening, but if you want to have something to eat– apart from the wings– this is probably not the pub for you.
