Whilst we didn’t actually dine in, we we fortunate enough to have our gourmet dinner catered by Claire’s at the Kilcolgan castle. Claire personally delivered our food to the castle, which consisted of a soup, salad, and a rack of lamb with potatoes and veggies. All items were thoughtfully paired with carefully planned spices and dressings.
Our only regret is that we ran out of time to stop in for a visit to the Tearoom. Thank you so much Claire for catering the wonderful dinner for our anniversary celebration.

Claire’s Tearooms (yes there are multiple) provides what may be the quintessential breakfast and tea experience. I had a LivingSocial which provided breakfast for two, with juice and a pot of tea for a measly, embarrassingly cheap 7 euros. And yet I’d have gladly paid full price. Eggs Benedict with fresh eggs and a hollandaise so tasty it defied my taste buds to identify the source of its greatness. Fresh juice, and a piping hot pot of Irish breakfast. All in a traditional stone house with proper place settings and little flowers on the teacups.
Go for breakfast, go for afternoon tea — hell, go for breakfast and STAY for afternoon tea! This is a place not to be missed.
