So, leisureplex coolock has been around for what feels like forever, and hasn’t really changed — at all — but that’s okay! It’s still simple fun arcade stuff, with the added BYOB Bowling nights to get teenagers [and us albeit accidentally] in the door. Unlimited bowling and pool for € 10? Can’t really argue with that — had a great night, place wasn’t packed and staff were lovely. Which leads me to the number 1 thing about this place-I want to say a massive thank you to the male staff member [I wish I got his name] who came out to help me with jump leads when my car battery died. He spent AGES out with me [it was proper dead, we’d been in there for hours and I left my lights on]. He was so helpful, friendly and pleasant and refused any compensation for his efforts. Thank you!

Getting a little long in the tooth now. This venue hasn’t really changed in about 20 years. Multiple Bowling lanes, pool & snooker. Coin-op video games which are loud & distracting. A plastic«ice skating rink», Q-zar(never sure how to pronounce that), & The Zoo activity centre for young kids(which is very overpriced at € 7.50 per child irrespective of age). They also for some reason charge € 1 admission. That’s right, you have to pay to give them your money. It could do with a re-imagine, but probably won’t get one because it makes a lot of money as is.

If you want to bowl in Dublin, then the Leisureplex is really your only option. However, beware, as you will likely raise the age profile — this is a top spot for teenagers. Extras that you can add include Q-Zar laser tag, pool and snooker, but my personal bête noire is those machines with the grabby claw where you purportedly can win a cheap cuddly toy.
