5 stars for the memories alone. Cyrus Avenue has been doing it longer than anywhere in Cork. Odds are that most Cork people’s first gig was here. There are generally three types of gigs you’ll go to here: 1. That band you love in college but are a bit embarrassed by years later. 2. A band that became absolutely massive two years after playing Cyprus Avenue. 3. Your friend’s gig along with 11 other people. As a venue it’s nothing special, but they’ve always put the effort in to their bookings. An institution.

it gets some great gigs and usually a really good crowd, but the set up of the venue is just weird… bar out the back and stage at the front, and the sound has never impressed me…

As far as I am concerned, this is Corks best live music venue. Up and coming bands from around the country, even the world, have played here(seen Mumford and Sons and Snow Patrol on the stage when I was in college), but the venue also supports local acts most nights of the week.

Great little venue, one of Cork’s finest. Its a nice, intimate environment with a back room for those less interested in what is going on on-stage. There are usually good gigs going on there a couple of times a week. Check it out.

One of Cork’s best music venues with high profile and well known acts. It has a bit of an odd layout, but the screens from other rooms are appreciated. As well as the well known acts, there’s always a local band to get a chance.

Cyprus Avenue, located above The Old Oak, is perhaps the best music venue in Cork. It draws some of the most up and coming bands to the city, while also affording local groups a chance in the spotlight. It is a cosy and intimate setting allowing the audience to connect with the performance. The bar service is always prompt and witha smile. Come to Cyprus Avenue, and see the stars of tomorrow.
