While the bedroom was newly decorated and clean, I cannot say the same for the dining area. The amount of flies present was terrible. We had dinner in the restaurant on the evening that we arrived, but spent the entire time swatting flies away from our food. At breakfast the following morning it was even worse. It was an open buffet, with flies landing on everything. We just had the coffee and left. If the dining area is this bad, what is the kitchen like? They really need to address this. It was very offputting.

The missus and myself used Jury’s Inn as our base of operations while we were back home. Can’t beat the location, a short walk to the bus station, Merchant’s Quay, and downtown. But beyond the location… The room was fine — we were on the top floor with a view of the Lee and Pembroke’s Quay, which was wonderful, but it was noisy. Can’t fault the hotel for things going on outside, but got the impression that the windows were made of tissue paper to let that much noise in. Not that I would have slept much, since the beds were apparently made of poured concrete, with sacks of cement for pillows. I’d get over that though(some like it firm, I like it soft), if it wasn’t for the fact that my wife’s duvet cover was stained and dingy, and didn’t get a wash or changed out once in the five nights we stayed. To top it off, the last night there, we were plagued by a dripping sound. Drip. Drip. Drip. Drip. All night long. Was coming from directly above us, not the bathroom, so can only assume there’s a leak in the roof somewhere. Restaurant is average. Food is about what I’d expect from an average Cork kitchen a decade ago, but now there are restaurants all over town that blow theirs out of the water. Handy enough for breakfast, but wouldn’t have dinner there again. All in all, wasn’t a horrible stay. I can’t say too many great things about the place apart from the location, though, so if you can find a better place, I’d suggest going there.

Good location, close to downtown Cork where all the shops and restaurants are. Gated parking lot with key card access. Room and bathroom were fine… no fan or AC. Slow elevators.

Can’t fault this hotel. Just that it’s a bit noisy outside at times. But just usual hustle n bustle of being in a town I suppose. Great location to explore Cork. Breakfast buffet we couldn’t fault. More like brunch as they don’t stop till 12 at weekends. 5 to 10 mins walk and your at st patricks street. Car park is 1 st come 1st serve. We had a place whole 4 days stay. Mum got woken in the night by someone reeeeeaaly enjoying their break. Lol! I slept through the disturbance. But do admit that the walls are thin. Food menu in bar ok. Not amazing. But I had a burger one night and it was nice. Would def use a jury’s inn again. Hopefully not with my mother placed next to a midnight bonkathon. ;)

I expected great things from Jury’s Inn Cork but was left feeling slightly let down. It was advertised as having floor to ceiling windows(it didn’t), LCD television in the room(it was an ol tube TV with no reception) and free wireless Internet(not wireless and charged at 5 euros and hour). The location is great, right on the edge of the shopping district and nextdoor to the bus station. On checking in, we were givenrhe wrong room and when I called down to reception itwas denied… But they soon gave in and changed is to the correct room. Toiletries are the non removable type and the rooms weren’t huge. All in all I wouldn’t pay the price tag for this hotel in future, although comfortable I’ve stayed in better travellodges for a fraction ofthe price!

Jurys Cork Hotel is a new and very comfortable hotel with a great staff. The rooms are very nicely appointed with comfy beds, nice linens, coffee/tea service and mini bar. Bathrooms are spotless and huge with separate tub and shower. The hotel is located about a 20 min walk from the center of downtown Cork but is also near shops and restaurants at that end of town. I spent one afternoon just walking around the University of Cork, which has a lovely campus and interesting bits of Irish history.

A great hotel and in such a good position next to the Michael Collins Bridge. Not far to walk into the town or across the bridge and down the side of the river. They have special offers occasionally and we had one of them. A lovely en-suite room, very clean. Friendly staff at reception too.
