LOVEITHERE! Omg it was amazing! So reasonable too! Fast service and the menu is straight to the point! Got a nap with chicken chips and lettuce and it was amazing! Chicken was a but spivey but it was worth it! Wish there was one in Dublin! Get in their early because the line is out the door!

My first 5-star review — at KC’s you get exactly what you are paying for! If you’re looking for a top class chipper there no beating KC and Sons! The long lines you sometimes encounter are just a sign of the well deserved popularity of this spot. They truly have taking and filling orders down to a science. I am in Cork from the US monthly and feel it’s an incomplete trip if I haven’t worked in a stop for a Vampire! Even though I’m sure there are many customers in there much more often then me, I feel the counter staff already knows what I want. In from New Jersey– i also feel at home with the introduction of the Soprano! Also work around a lot of Irish expats back in the US and have found there is no better way to prove my Cork ‘cred’ then by introducing this landmark into the conversation! I now take two of my sons there– and it’s mostly chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers– though my 12 year old is getting a but more adventurous and last went with the steak sandwich. I’m sure all of their tasty creations are just as top notch!

Being Mexican and from Los Angeles I have to say KC’s was my savior. I was getting homesick for the taco trucks, and KC’s is a great little bite of America. At least, Los Angeles America. Incredible! The entire menu. The friend I was with ordered like 10 different things and we devoured them all. It’s a mixture of southern cajun, like creoles, and latin food(they have chimichangas lol).

Best chipper EVER. Be ready for quite a queue but it does move quickly and is well worth it… Been coming here since I was a child and still have to visit every time I come back to Cork. Just ask anybody !!!

King Creole or Bombshell every time! The pittas are unbelievable and well worth the wait! Don’t be discouraged by the long line outside its worth every second of the wait! Go with a side of garlic chips and cheese at the end! A top class chipper

I can see(or, taste?) what that long queue is all about it(it does go by rather quickly though, they’ve got a good system going on). Quality food for a good price. Only thing I really didn’t like was the amount of the mayo given(as someone else mentioned) but I think Irish people really like their mayo. No seating available, it’s literally a take-away shop.

From Douglas originally, now living in West Limerick, called to K C s recently, still the same layout but the food? Chips contained a lot of small overcooked bits and greasy, peas did not taste like the original mushy peas served years ago, tasted like canned ones, pies lacked flavour, very disappointed,

Best fast food in Cork — The long queue every night tells you more than any review. Well worth a try

I was walking by the place on day one of our trip in Cork… line(called a «queue» in Ireland) was crazy long. I was confused and asked a woman, «What is this place?» The lady replied, «The best food!.. its worth the wait.» I was not going to wait, as I was hungry and didn’t believe food was worth that wait. So the next day we come by looking for food and there was barely any line. We went in and ordered. My wife is a vegitarian and she found food she could eat. We walked out and ate in our car. I WISHTHEYHADSEATINGSOMEWHERE. The food was AMAZING! I was shocked to be honest. Alot of Irish food is bland(No offense as I love Ireland)…but this food was amazing. Keep in mind I live in California and I have the opportunity to try ALOT of food. Only thing I didn’t like was the Garlic Mayo Fries. WOW… TOOMUCHMAYO… like heart attack level mayo. We threw it away as we could not even get to the fries. But thats not their fault… we did not know thats how Irish people like their fries with garlic mayo. I wish I could go back there again, but it was two days before XMas and everything shut down. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDIT. If they had a patio area for seats or a bigger location for seating they would do even more business. Be warned though… a little greasy. Its not a healthy joint… but if you dont care dig in. I had the fish pita.

Hübsch gestalteter kleiner Laden, ausschließlich Take Away.

The queue was very long but I can see why! The menu is vast with so many different options, and those chips! Yum! We’d been told to check out the fish and chip shop with all the awards, and check it out we did. I got chips with garlic aioli(they don’t skimp on the ailoi, trust me!) and the Bengal Bites which were super tasty! We also had an Atlantic Burger which was delish and two flying fish which were great. Not sure if I can say it’s the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted but they were certainly decent fish and chips and they don’t FEEL super greasy which is a bonus. I’d get there early though, the line gets really long, and know what you want before you reach the counter because they move super fast.

As I ventured back to my B&B and hunger had set in, I decided to partake of KC’s fare since it was busy and that usually tells a tale. A curry chips later and I have to say that while they were nice, they weren’t fantastic by any stretch of the imagination and a bit light on the curry. I’d go again but I woul;dn’t go out of my way to go there.

KCs is a tiny little red hut in the middle of Douglas with ginormous queues at lunchtime, serving a strange mix of Irish chipper and Mexican taco truck food. Hard to get to — had to sneaky park at the garage across the way. On offer: pitas done about 15 different ways, hamburgers, and other curiosities(…enchiladas!). I ordered the King Creole pita — it was delicious, full to the brim with cajun chicken, salad, cheese, sauce, and chips. The pita reminded me of a corn tortilla taco — it looked and tasted slightly fried. Nice touch anyway. Will be back next time I find myself hungry in Cork!

I have had KC’s once in my life and never again. The chips smelled like fish and that completely put me off the place. I ordered something else as well i think some chicken nuggets and they were shockingly bad, My dog would not even eat them!!! Everyone says this is the best chipper ever but give me lennoxs’ or starvation over this anytime

Now get this, I am not inclined to frequent chippers, tis rare that I’d bother with them, but I just love this little chipper, and so do a lot of other people. Every time I’m there it has queues out the door. I love their inventive food menu esp the pitta breads stuffed with salad peppers, pineapple and chips and oozing with mayo, and their vegetarian selection is yummy. Good food on the go, quick and very efficient service. you give your order when you go in and they queue it very swiftly. YUM big thumbs up for me.

best in cork… a huge menu and always a good variety, not just burgers and chips, their cheeseburger takes some beating… gets very busy and has weird opening hours, but worth it…
