RNLI — BALLYCOTTONLIFEBOAT One focal point, almost a constant one, of a visit to Ballycotton is the local lifeboat moored in the harbour. As a day tripper, I usually take it for granted. A boat has been there, saving lives, since 1858. The crew is a voluntary one and many people from the village are involved in the operation, including on the fund-raising side and one of the ways they can get funds in is through the RNLI shop which is open every Sunday from 3.00 to 5.00pm. Do drop in if you are in the attractive area which has good coastal walks and views, good fishing, good eating and drinking.
