Huge and inviting, brightly lit, massively friendly staff and really nicely laid out. They have all the basics… a sweet counter, off licence, hot deli and other stuff of no interest to me(fruit, veg, nappies, cleaning stuff etc…). Parking around the back can be a bit tight but fine if you pay attention and don’t back into a wall because you weren’t paying attention and were concentrating on something completely stupid… em, not that that happened or anything, honestly. They also have those very very small trolleys for kids to push around while you are shopping — they are brilliant — though management have asked me to stop using them as the children wanted a go.

It’s a Supervalu it sells stuff you need. at reasonable prices… But what i want to bring up here is the ridiculous Alcohol sales policies here… First of all they will not sell alcohol to anyone who doesn’t have their garda age card and looks underage… they wont sell it to you if you are in possession of a passport… which will let you leave the country… but is not good enough for this off-license… A grown man, had to be 30 years old once asked me to buy him booze here because he didn’t have his ID… silly

Somewhere between Tescos and Superquinn, there is Supervalue. Not as cheap as Tescos but, equally, not as nice as Superquinn. Off licence inside and chemists next door make this a one stop shop for pretty much anything. And yes, they’ll do home delivery for your granny.
