Eileen O’Brien is a fantastic proprietor who goes above and beyond her job to ensure her guests have the best possible experience. The B&B is clean, quaint, comfortable, quiet, and in a great location.

Top notch B&B we stayed at in June of 2011. Owner-lady couldnt have been a nicer and more considerate person. Great location(walked to the strip of pubs/shops with Gus O’Connors and also to the Doolin pier where we took a ferry to the Aran Islands) with great vista views of hilsides, oceans, and of course cows(you can sometimes hear them moo-ing from your room!). Free wifi, tasty breakfast of your choice, and roomy comfortable bedrooms. Very cozy upstairs community area with tons of books, chess set, and loungy couches and views. Free parking and had a box of converter plugs in case one of you ignorant Americans forgets yours.

I think there may be more B&B’s in Doolin than there are people. It’s a one-street town that may have been my favorite of the entire trip. The Atlantic View House felt a little like something out of a movie or novel. There are cows outside your window. And beyond the cows is the ocean. And cliffs. And you forget for a second that you have to return to wherever you are returning at the end of your trip and wonder if you will ever see a view like this again. I traveled with a friend and mistakenly requested a double room. In Ireland, that means you will be sharing a double-wide bed, not two separate beds. The owner was away when we checked in so we left the request to switch with the woman covering front desk. When we returned later in the day, the owner almost tackled us at the door with her apologies. She had already moved our bags into a twin room and left hand-written notes on our old and new room doors. Breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful room overlooking both the cows and sea. Perfect setting for day-dreaming over a hot cup of tea and a scone. If I had one complaint it would be the bathrooms. There was a musty/mildew-y smell that we couldn’t quite shake, but being so close to the water and with the rain this town endures it may just come with the territory. p. s. Our GPS couldn’t find the Atlantic House. No worries — it’s just up the street on the left past O’Connors Pub. You can’t miss it.
