We liked this pub way better than o Connors. The fish cakes were delicious. Burger and chicken were both fantastic. The mains took a while and they have us a complimentary pint! The music here was really good too!

The Healy tour bus for the Cliffs of Moher stopped here for lunch for 45 minutes. I was suffering from a cough and cold after running the Rock ‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon, so I really wanted some comfort food. I got the chicken and thought they were giving me mashed potatoes, but they just gave me veggies, so I was disappointed. My friend let me have some/most of his mashed potatoes, so it turned out okay. We were just glad to eat food. Prices are okay. I think I paid about 10 Euro for my food. The environment was okay, too. It was still crowded even though we arrived right around 1:30 or 2 p.m., which is late for lunch. We didn’t know that the food was in the back, and similar to a cafeteria set-up. We sat at the bar first and asked for a food menu before we learned where the food was from the friendly bartender. After we got our food, we had to look around for seats before we settled on the window high seats. Overall, not a bad place to have lunch after a day of touring around West Ireland!

After our paddy wagon tour to the cliffs of moher, our tour guide brought us to this little town to eat lunch because he swears by it, and it IS good! I think both of our entrees were between 12 – 14 or so euros, but they give generously with their sides, and their sides are good! We ordered 3 dishes: roasted lamb leg, Atlantic salmon, and seafood chowder. The seafood chowder was only okay. It wasn’t as thick as you might expect a chowder to be, and besides chunks of salmon, I don’t think I found many other seafood ingredients… it was also on the salty side. Our two entrees were delicious in flavor, texture, mouthfeel, just all around goodness! Husband got salmon with brown gravy, I got the lamb leg with white gravy. It’s just all good. Flavors are awesome. Both meats had their original lamb and salmon flavors, sides were fresh and flavorful. The mixed greens and carrots were so good! The carrots were so sweet and they had these white carrots too! The mixed greens contained a green that had a hint of bigger flavor but that also made it good and taste fresh. I ate my veggies sides with some mashed potatoes and those flavors all mixed together were also super good. If you’re in the area, definitely eat here!

Much improved since I last visited a few years ago. On the beer front they are the only pub in town that serves something other than the standard 4 taps you see everywhere. They have a very nice house tap called dooliner… turned out to be wonderful and a nice change. Most of the food is locally sourced and service is great Cant go wrong stopping for a pint of Dooliner and some nice stew

We visited Doolin in early February, which is clearly off-season. Also every single thing in town was shut down, except for Fitzpatrick’s.(Thank goodness they were open, or lunch and dinner was going to be the protein bars in our backpack). Also, amazingly, they served our two favorite/best meals during our whirlwind tour of Ireland. We wandered in to a mostly empty place on a chilly Monday afternoon, a bit distressed to see that our food options were all served cafeteria style. But they still looked decent, under the heat lamps. I had the potato & spinach au gratin, and my friend had the salmon. Both were delicious and both came with a side of mashed potatoes(that’s right, my potato entrée came with a side of potato!), cabbage, and carrots and parsnips. When the employee asks«do you want white sauce» answer«YES!!» We both wanted to lick our plates. So good. Reasonably priced. After we were eating our meal, a giant tour bus arrived, unloading 39 tourists for lunch.(And the reasoning behind it being a cafeteria-style lunch became apparent). They were able to serve this large group of people very efficiently. When we returned for dinner, it was with delight we learned that they have live music Mondays at 9:30pm. 3 local musicians, and obviously an «open door» policy, as several others wandered in and joined throughout the night. Dinner options were decent variety and also very tasty. My pal devoured her bucket of mussels. And I ordered the embarassingly-named«Chicken Cor-Doolin Bleu.» Apart from the silly pun, it was great. The side of fries/chips were also great. Their pints are poured well and often. Very jovial crowd for the evening music. When the band switched from instrumentals to vocals, a hush fell over the lively patrons as everyone quieted to allow the singing to be heard. It was very cool.

Visited Fitzpatrick’s Bar while on my tour of Co Clare. The pub is in a little town called Doolin, perfect area for your stay to tour the Cliffs of Moher. They have outdoor and indoor seating, fireplace and most of all great food. I only had the Irish coffee and a slice of apple pie. I am not a whiskey drinker so the coffee was a bit too strong for my indulgence. However, a few sips hit the spot and now a mark off my bucket list for real Irish coffee.

The food here is fantastic, although a bit pricey. The staff are always friendly, kind, and helpful. The live music they have on nightly is amazing. It’s a great place to get dinner(in their restaurant) or a great place to wind down after a day at Aran Islands or Cliffs of Moher(in the bar area). We visited this place twice — once on the restaurant side(believe it’s called Fitz’s Bar) and once later in the night at the Traditional Bar where they had live music. On the restaurant side, we indulged in seafood shepherd’s pie and steak. The steak was tender, moist, perfectly medium rare. The shepherd’s pie definitely gave you a taste of seafood, more specifically chunks of salmon. It was a great creamy consistency though and the mashed potatoes on top were the perfect accompaniment. All in all this place is a MUST go if you’re spending any extended period of time in Doolin. Doolin is known for their live music, so take some time to visit all the pubs in the area. Keep in mind that there are stretches of quiet in between stretches of «downtown» so go beyond just this little block and you’ll find more to Doolin. You’ll find the oldest bar in Doolin on your way from downtown to the Doolin pier — O’Connor’s I believe it was called. But our favorite has definitely been this bar to round out any night.

Really enjoyed the food here, which surprised me because it’s the most«Americanized» of the 4 Irish pubs in Doolin. There are two separate areas to eat at Fitzpatrick’s, the main bar area where the entertainment is set up, and then another separate dining room that is designed as a country barn. The dining room option is preferable for larger groups and families. Although the bar dining is closer to the music, it’s definitely cramped and the service is limited. The BURGER. Shocked by how good it was. The best in Doolin for sure. It was cooked medium(they won’t cook it any other way) with bacon, it was EXCELLENT. The chips served with it were excellent as well. We started with some crab legs, which were tasty(though small) and came in a wonderful buttery seafood sauce with a light summer salad. I tried a bit of my brother-in-law’s seafood chowder and thought it was good, not great. Try the house«craft» beer. It’s not very hoppy, but it offers a nice malty finish that isn’t as heavy as Guinness. Also stay for the music. There are some remarkable names coming through this pub, including the likes of Siobhán Peoples and Blackie O’Connell. Check the schedule in the summer and you won’t be disappointed. If you want more of the smaller, local, Irish feel though — there are better options in town. For comfort of seating, this might be your best bet

This is a standard stop for anyone going on the Paddywagon day tour of the Cliffs of Moher. Diner style lunch options. Standard fare, and tasty without being memorable. We had the salmon, the veggie soup, and the seafood stew. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the veggie soup forgettable, and the seafood stew good and filled with a fair balance of fish and root vegetables. Friendly and fast service, and has adequate electrical cords to charge up your phone for the next portion of the journey.

Food here is surprisingly delicious. You must cue up and order your food, cafeteria style, then pay at the register where you can order your pint of Guinness or Bulmers. They accept credit cards but the minimum purchase is € 10. I ordered the baked salmon that came with mashed potatoes, cabbage, and carrots. Filling meal indeed. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Not dry or overcooked. This was where my Irish Day Tours: Cliffs of Moher bus driver dropped us for lunch and I’m glad he did! Side note: you’ll be able to access Hotel Doolin’s free wifi!

This pub is attached to Hotel Doolin. It has quaint traditional Irishness all over it which I’m sure the tourists love as bus loads of them arrive a few times a day it seems. The staff are friendly and attentive. I must of been asked about 4 times during my meal if everything was ok. I went for the seafood chowder and the giant pot of mussels. It was all really tasty. My only regret is not trying the recommended Trawler which I hear is fab. There’s plenty of trad music to get you going too. All in all if you like the whole Irish traditional clichéd experience, you’ll love this ;)

We ate in Fitz’s bar. Some of the best food we had while visiting the south of Ireland. The food was very good with a great choice of entrees and very good sized portions. Not just the run of the mill selections! It was so nice to have something rather unique.
