Would have always given here a 5* but after last nights meal I can only give it 3*. What was advertised as fresh mussels and prawns unfortunately were frozen. Big disappointment. My chicken dish was over cooked and the chicken tough and dry. Always loved a meal in west 29 but they have in my opinion let the standard of food drop. Service is still excellent. Décor is bright and inviting but the room was a little cold. Will give it some time and another visit but if food quality doesn’t improve its not value for money and I won’t be returning

As a couple my wife and I have tried most restaurants in Drogheda we both agree that West29 is our favourite. Excellent food, friendly happy staff. Looking forward to our next visit.

The décor is nice and fresh. However I was sitting facing two large out of place portraits; one of Michael Jackson and the other… what I can only assume was the worst ever likeness of Madonna. I didnt spot any others on any of the walls so am at a total loss as to how these ended up here. It was a little unnerving catching Michaels eye every few minutes through the evening.
For our meal we had various offerings from chicken wings, salads, breads and calamari to steak. All were impressed with the food and the prices were very reasonable. The staff were very pleasant too.
The only thing I would say is that the theme of the restaurant is a bit confusing. There are starters and there are ‘sharing plates’/tapas and there are mains. The tapas menu isnt very extensive at about ⁶⁄₇ long. They didnt look like they were too large with portions prices at € 3.50. So it looked like they were supposed to be shared starters. Our party of 5 wasnt sure whether we were going to go down the tapas route or just traditional starters and mains. So it took us ages to settle on what we were going to do.

Shared lots of tapas, and the dessert to share is great if you have trouble choosing, you can have them all! :)
