Very disappointed. Order a pizza at 7:52 menu with wine. I had a missed call at 8:20, rang back immediately probably 20 times no answer. Finally an hour later managed to talk to them and they told me my order was cancelled as they had no license for wine… even if payment was taken by credit card. Finally an hour and 30 min after two squashed pizzas uncooked and with wrong ingredients delivered. absolutely a joke

Pros: — Wow this was a damn good pizza; I got the Diablo which was spicy, had crispy chorizo and pepperoni, fresh jalapeños, and nice thin crust — happy to see it wasn’t very greasy — delivery only took 20 min — solid sizes for 1 – 2 people Cons: — somewhat pricey but to be fair, you pay for quality

Base has become our go-to for pizza delivery. The first few times we ordered, it was great. Full of flavor with interesting topping combos. Unfortunately, the last two times we ordered it wasn’t up to the quality we’ve come to expect. Something just tasted off, the ingredients didn’t come together the way they usually do. It almost tasted like something had gone bad, only way I can think to explain it. I think we’ll be taking a break from Base before ordering from them again.

Newish pizza spot with a few tables outside. Most people order takeout and I’ve seen more than a few people devour theirs while walking. Was it because the pizza was just that good? No – I ordered a margarita and it didn’t even have any fresh basil leaves?! This place has great customer service, a 10 euro special that gets you a pizza(slightly larger than an American personal pizza, enough for either 1 or 2 ppl depending on appetite) and soda, and is still freshly baked in the oven and decent.

I’ve actually never had a pizza here. This place opens early in the morning & serves great coffee! Service can be a little slow as they have generally got just 1 barista and one machine to make the coffee however the staff are super friendly & it’s worth the wait!

I have eaten at Base a few times, the most recently being at lunch during the Web Summit. The Base staff handled the huge volume of people well and our food was still done within 15 minutes and delivered to our table; very impressive. I had a vegetable sandwich with grilled aubergine, mozzarella and pesto. The bread was crunchy on the outside and the cheese was gooey and warm all the way through(I hate it when paninis are cold in the middle). It was quite frankly, delicious. It was also very filling and I could almost not eat the whole thing(I pushed through it and succeeded). My colleagues all ordered pizzas which they said were very good as well and had come creative and more up-scale ingredients like rocket. The crust looked thin and crispy with a nice chew and there was a food amount of toppings. The only reason I am giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is because in my pizza ordering experience, they have trouble remembering substitutions on pizzas, which is especially sad when pizza is delivered and you are more or less stuck with it. Overall, a great pizza, and sandwich experience for a fast, delicious meal.

I tried this place for dinner one night. This small pizza place is neat, clean, bright and welcoming. My friends and I bought 2 pizzas(blue cheese and prosciutto – one of the special’s, and capricciosa). It was around 15 euros each. Both were good with fairly thin crust but my favorite was the special which had good quality blue cheese. I never tried a blue cheese pizza and it tasted fantastic! I didn’t know what to expect but it was very good. The person who took our order was also nice. We took it to-go and ate it at Mary Macs.

Yea have to agree with other posters, base has a long way to catch Paulie’s, pale dry crust sparse toppings and little love included overall pretty crap!

I’d have to agree with the previous post. The pizzas are overpriced when you can get better at Paulie’s or even Bellucis do 10 euro take out pizzas that are just as good if not better. Base toppings are sparse and on two occasions I have had burnt overcooked bases. I won’t return unless the pizzas were more reasonably priced and cooked to the standard you would expect.

Finally, ordered pizza from here — 15 mins later — hot pizza in the car and a few minuted after that at home. The order was right on time and the pizza was good — not as good as my Dublin fave, Paulie’s, but a good pizza. I tried the 13″ Margherita — all of their pizza’s come in 9″ or 13″ sizes and they offer salads as well as loads of topping options, but I wanted to keep it simple — because the pizza was allegedly for my 4 year old daughter. The sauce and cheese were good — the basil looked like perhaps there was one leaf to split among all of the pizza’s for the night so it had to be used judiciously — we got a few scraps. The crust — where paulie’s truly reigns supreme — was okay, just not that interesting — I would strongly urge Base to hire a lab to determine what is in the Paulie’s dough and steal, steal, steal that recipe. Having said that, Base is good base — ic(sorry) pizza — a strong second fiddle in a pinch if you can’t snag a table at Paulie’s.
