located on the lower Drumcondra road opposite the Bishop’s Palace gate i had high expectations for this place. it is next door to what used to be the blue door beauty salon owned by Cecilia Aherne and is probably too far from any major footfall to be overly successful. it hasn’t the reputation of Andersons around the corner and while they may have hoped to borrow some of their customers they fall way too short. the café is very pretty and quiet but the coffee and the menu was much too meh for my liking. i had a hot chocolate and it cost me € 2.95 or thereabouts and all i could taste was the powder and the boring scones and toasted sandwiches did not appeal to me so i didn’t bother to order food. i was hoping to find some hot dishes on offer but they had too simple a menu to entice me back. unfortunately.
