I am very confused by this place. I come here a lot on Fridays. Service is fabulous ! I feel like I have to write a good review because of the service!!! That’s not fair! I love pizza — they have a lot of good pizzas — but I feel that the quality of the ingredients could be better. Pizzas come as too salty sometimes — and there is more to taste than just salt. Calzone is one of the examples. I often have to create my own pizza to get what I want! Lasagne is really tasty. Based on the pizzas I’ve eaten in Dublin — this is 3 stars only — I would love to give more … !

The best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at in Ireland. The food was so good I didn’t stop to photo most of it. Slightly pricier than other Italian restaurants but you get what you pay for here. Will be back soon

I had a dinner with my friends. There is clean, and staffs is very friendly. I ate arrabbiata pasta, carbonara pasta, rustic pizza and some pizza(sorry I forgot the pizza’s name). Carbonara was nice:) and Irish coffee was good. We can see Ballsbridge river and eating, drinking.

This restaurant is deceivingly big on the inside compared to the small storefront. They run good lunchtime specials during the week. My gnocchi was good, not overly dough-y. However, the sauce was very rich and overpowering. I did enjoy this spot more than other local Italian options though.

My lunch today was very good. And the people are very nice too. Sitting outside with a glass of rose while waiting for pizza and my fish to be served.

Was visiting Ireland for the first time and stayed in a B&B in Ballsbridge. My friends and I were walking along the main st and saw this place. Cute little restaurant, waitstaff was friendly a tad slow but not enough to be annoying. The food was delicious everyone in my party finished their plates. We all got some variation of a pasta dish and there were no complaints. Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and portion size was just right. Desserts were just as yummy, we ordered a few different desserts and wish we could have ordered more but were just too full. We weren’t able to go back to this place on the trip but if I ever go back will definitely stop by.

Really very bad restaurant. Went here for their 3 course menu. Prawns were frozen. Partner had focaccia to start and that was it just a few pieces of bread. Terrible reheated and microwaved dishes

Solid four star, I have been back a few times since my original review, which says it all really. It is a nice little Italian, certainly preferred to Belucci’s nearby. The pizza is good, but has not hit the highs I experienced previously — I have had better experience with their wine though and their pasta dishes are decent. Overall the best in the area in the Italian category that I have found.

Almost the worst Italian rest. I’ve been to. I would think that Italy is not that far away, no excuse. The food was Italian in name only. Much more promising Italian down the street.

I find myself coming here more and more recently as it is so refreshing to have something other than a Centra on your lunch break. This place is lovely if your interested in getting a bite to eat or chatting with friends over dinner with a glass of wine with those teeny little candles all aglow in the restaurant. Food is delicious(the pizza’s are what everyone I know raves about) and the portions are generous(I always leave 10 pounds heavier with food still left abandoned on the plate), staff are always friendly and they even manage to keep a straight face when I try to order the dish which is displayed in Italian(which I have now resorted to pointing to the preferred dish and saying«That one, I’m not going to even try to pronounce!»). I would have love to have seen a real authentic style Italian restaurant in the middle of Ballsbridge but alas I think the owner has succumbed to the«name of the area». Even so still well worth a visit, or a take — away if you’re in a hurry!

I love the pizzas here, thin and crispy with just the right amount of cheese and sauce, which means I have yet to try the wider menu of Italian classics at Al Boschetto. Split over two narrow levels, the lower dining area pushes tables around big pillars, so keeping up a conversation with a dining companion at the end of a long table can be difficult. The wait staff are competent if rushed, so know what you want the first time your table is checked on, or spend the next twenty minutes waiting for another chance. Lunch time is inevitably busy; who wouldn’t want to while away the hour over a glass of red while waiting for piping hot pizza and garlic bread? That also means, unfortunately, that food can get backed up in the kitchen and not served till right before you have to throw on your coat and run for the office. Don’t take it personally. Take the pizza to go and try not to eat it all on the walk back.

Went to eat here a week or two ago… its a very nice italian with some excellent options and a menu that should please anyone who likes Italian Food. They have a nice place that is deceptively big. The portions are quite big and the pizzas will push you to the limits. So if you are coming to eat here a mini fast before hand would be a great idea! Recommend this place quite highly and i am sure you will enjoy it if you try it out

You know those little local Italian diners you see in the movies that everyone seems to know about and parents seem to go to a lot and the waiter knows everyones name and there are red and white check table clothes with old chianti bottles with melted candle wax all over them… well this place is nothing like that. Except of coursr that they manage to keep the atmosphere of the fictional above! Having worked in a little local Italian diner for years(long since turned into an Indian place) the first thing I thought when entering was«I bet this is a nice place to work», happy staff make for a good restaurant and this place seemed to encapsulate that. The food is not spectacular but it is good, we have never had a bad meal there, they do a chicken dish there wioth a cream sauce which is well worth a shot! We got take-away pizza a few times as well, they were good but I couldn’t help feeling they were expensive, I think they charge the same for take-out as dine-in. perhaps a bit cheeky?! Anyway, go, enjoy and dont miss the melted candles too much!
