I didn’t believe it when quentin wrote about the post office in nutgrove, it used to be in the middle of the centre and did nothing more than what a post office should(or usually does) but he is right! in order to get to the post officey bit at the back you have to fight through the kids and toys to get to it. now its not like a smyths and you are unlikely to get any brand name toys in here, rather, you will find tacky tea sets and pink plastic crowns. or for the boys you could have some cow boy guns or a chunky bulldozer(wait, forget the boy girl divide bit there either type of kids could like any of the toys i mentioned! its almost 2010 for gods sake!) anyway, take this review as a warning if you need to go to the Post ofice and you have a kid in tow, you will need to bring a few extra euros so that you can buy whatever cheap toy grabs the attention of the child, very good marketing ploy from this shop!

Is it me or are post offices beginning to expand into very ‘un postofficy’ sort of areas? I have already reviewed one in Sandymount that doubles as a deli but I truly didn’t expect to find one that also served as a toy shop — but that is exactly what the Nutgrove shopping centre post office does. Things are all fairly cheap playthings, disposable really, but when you have a grumbling 18 month old in the buggy and all you need is a 2Euro donkey to get you through the next 30 mins of shopping there’s no where like it!
