Packaging makes a big difference, often affecting people’s taste. One of the reasons, in my opinion, that Benefit is so popular is because of its beautiful packaging. Benefit, a cosmetic range, makes their makeup look like candy. The blush comes in fancy little paper boxes and the creams in colourful squirt bottles. The cosmetics look like they were inspired by 1950s’ rock ‘n roll. The women in the ad campaigns wear head scarves, nifty glasses and bright lipstick. It’s very cool. Benefit’s marketing is superb and their counter in Arnotts Project is one of my favourite places to go for retail therapy. It stocks all the top sellers. Prices are higher than your average makeup counter but the products are better.
