I went to Bistro One at the lunch time. First time, I thought there is a french restaurant, because there is a classic atmosphere. but There is Italian restaurant! lol Everyday change the menu. I ordered 3 course.(Appetizer, Main, and Dessert) I ate fish as main. My friends ate beef. Foods is very delicious! and Specially, bread(french bread/baguette) is very nice! I think the most delicious french baguette in Dublin restaurants! Because it was moist, sweet, and good flavor. so I had a refill of it. Staffs is very gently. and the Rest room is clean. Maybe you can’t find the restaurant first time, however you can ask/call the staffs then :)

I hadn’t been here in years and I had forgotten what a great place this is. This is was always lovely, relaxed neighbourhood restaurant with excellent food and nothing has changed. I had a steak for main which was melt in the mouth. Probably the best steak I’ve had in a very long time. In fact there was really nothing I disliked about my meal here. I would highly recommend this great little local.

I’ve passed by a few times but decided to pop in for a quick bite recently. Bistro One is a nice looking joint! The pizza is pretty good value and tasty too(hence the wife digging in). She got the bruschetta which wasn’t so good. It was a little over priced and had enough garlic in it too satisfy the French army. I would go again but Bistro One is definitely more of a dinner place than a lunch spot.

Was here for my mums bday in December. See mums bday is on the 20th. every year we go out for dinner, and every year we’re surrounded by groups and groups of Christmas party dinners. Which always takes a bit away from the celebration and places are always very noisy. This year we thought we would try somewhere close to home. I had never heard of bistro one before, but mum had gotten a recommendation of a friend. We thought why not give it a go. It was superb! The restaurant is upstairs over the shops. The tables, glassware and crockery were all tip-top quality. Nice spacious room with plenty of tables. The staff are very well trained, friendly and attentive. The food is epic. Typical bistro style food. Quality ingredients used well. Flavoursome dishes and decent portions. Deserts were delsihhhh!!! We decided we think we’re gona make it a bit of a tradition now, and come to bistro one for mums bday every year. It was perfect because we had delicious food, wasn’t packed full of loud parties and such a handy location. Didn’t have to spend ages in traffic in and out of the town. Would recommend to all. Great spot for a family dinner and catch up :)

We were a table of four and booked for Thursday evening. The bistro was absolutely packed to capacity. But it was hot really uncomfortably hot. For a small space it’s not very well ventilated for such a large crowd. Food was ok. The starters were not well presented. I have crab cakes, I got a single crab cake with a bit or sauce and nothing else no lovely salad nothing. My husband ordered the prawns and again. About 4 prawns of the a la carte menu and a piece of lemon. Terrible presentation and a disgraceful portion size for the price. My main was ok. The food is good but presentation is seriously lacking and the dishes lack simple flare. I’ll go across to the gables in future

Delicious well prepared food, a spot for fine dinning, without being pretentious… Super friendly and polite staff… Great wines and they produce and sell their own olive oil from Tuscany… Very good value! And the best cappuccino in town! Just love it.

Love this place! From the outside it has a width of about one metre than when you go in and go upstairs the place is fairly big! I’ve only eaten here once, but we were going to go to the gables across the road but parked right outside here and decided we’d try it! It was closed when we tried the door but it said it was due to open so we rang the bell! They were still printing the menu when we sat down and they brought hot fresh bread! Yummy. The waiters are very nice, a lot of the people who go here are regulars. I honestly can’t remember what I had to start but it was delicious. I opted for fish and chips for my main which didn’t disappoint and the coffee is beautiful. We really enjoyed it and I’d like to eat here more often!

Although I live within walking distance, I’ve never eaten here before this week… Big mistake ! In spite of appearances, this is a great restaurant, with great service and excellent food and a warm intimate feeling. In addition to the a la carte menu, there’s a special menu with 2 courses for EU20 or 3 for EU25. I expect to return regularly. Strongly recommended.

We visited Bistro One on a Tuesday evening. Given the economic circumstances, you’d expect that the restaurant would be quiet but it was busy, clearly a tribute to its longstanding reputation for providing good food at a reasonable price. Previous visits to Bistro One had required plenty of headturning to read the evening’s specials chalked on boards dotted around the room. On this occasion we were given the option of eating from a set menu or a la carte. The set menu contained plenty of choice so all four chose from it. Starters were two rounds of monkfish goujons with marie rose sauce and one each of duck livers and shredded smoked mackerel. All proved successful, as was the bottle of Sancerre that we drank with the starters. Mains were two fish pies and one order each for the liver/bacon/black pudding combination(on mash) and one for cod. I love liver when it’s well cooked and Bistro One delivered. All of the other dishes were good and the sole jarring note was hit with the selection of vegetables served to the table. Cabbage, boiled potatoes, and chips seemed like an unusual selection. Two desserts and one cheese plate completed the meal. The almond tart and custard was very nice indeed. The staff was polite enough to leave us chatting undisturbed until we were ready to go, a habit that other restaurants could learn. All in all, a very nice meal. Bistro One is recommended, even on a Tuesday evening in October!

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin and its reserved for all my special occasions. There’s a great atmosphere and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The food is really good and there’s a great wine selection. Perfect for a casual but classy meal.

This is one os my favorite resturant! Love the bistro one salad for starter and then the wok fried chicken and lime with rice. cream brulee is amazing too! Hands down the best service, all the Staff are lovely and turnover is non existant! They never rush you and always make an effort to get us a table even though it is usually very busy. Great space between tables and atmosphere. Also the owner walks around and talks to tables ensuring everything is perfect. Love it!
