This is my second time trying to write this review — dont know where the first post went :( So I got home from work looking forward to my Friday night treat with my BF. We ordered from here, 40 euro of an order, Starter was fine and the Naan but the main course was not! Both of ours!! I got the Bhuna which is my normal order from Indian. The sauce reminded me of watered down potatoes. Not what a Bhuna should taste like :(Very disappointed. Wont be ordering again.

yeah what can I say. I was really looking forward to Indian food tonight and then I got disappointed! The food was cold, when it arrived. The taste was okey, but to weak like the garlic naan had barely garlic in it! My chicken was nice, but the sauce tasted like toothpast! And the delivery guy shouldn’t work with customers! Sorry but will not order there again soon!

Did this really just happen? Had a delivery from this place today: 1. It was cold! 2. Garlic Naan without Garlic 3. Lamb Korma just tasted like sugar. Way too sweet — the lamb was nice and tender tho 4. The delivery guy was so rude! Not one nice word or smile or thank you! Sorry lads, but I won’t order here again!

Since I’ve moved back to an area that I can get Bu Ali delivered, I decided to give it another try as I was always so fond of it. Went for the Lamb Saag and Chicken Balti. The Balti was very very spicy(almost too spicy for me) but tasted lovely and the lamb saag was back to how I remembered it. The lamb was so tender. We ordered it as part of a meal fo 2 deal which worked out at pretty good value. Happy to say I will definitely return!

We had the misfortune of ordering a take away from this horrific establishment 2 weeks ago. It was the worse Asian food I have ever tasted. We ordered the following: 1 X 112. Garlic Naan(Bread) 1 X 115. Peshawari Naan(Bread) 1 X 35. Phall(Lamb) + Pilau Rice 1 X 39. Korma Pasanda(Prawn) + Pilau Rice 1 X 26. Madras(Chicken) + Pilau Rice The Phall had the strangest ‘lamb’ — plus the spice content was non existent. The Chicken Madras was again tasteless. The Korma seemed as if they poured milk over a few frozen prawns. Poppadums and Naan were all greasy and cold. Disgarceful. We ate a few spoonfuls and threw the rest away. I suppose it was so dire — we are lucky we weren’t poisoned. Don’t tip this dive.

Just discovered this outstanding take away in April and feel the need to spread the word. I have lived in and around the Clanbrassil Street area for years but never considered trying Bu-Ali until a friend recommended it. Don’t be discouraged by the minimalist décor, the food speaks for itself. Wonderful Onion Bajis, Homemade yoghurt for their Raita and richly spiced Lamb Achar Curry are my personal favorites. The staff are also fantastic. Great sense of humor and plenty of banter out of all of them. Now one of my top choices to get take out, or if I am feeling a little bit of housebound cabin-fever, they offer some seating on site. Great value in my opinion, as Bu-Ali is definitely cheaper than its main competitors in Bombay Pantry.

Fantastic take-away Indian. They pride themselves as the first Indian take-away spot in Dublin. They have a few tables too if you fancy eating in. Not the cheapest take-away but the quality is good, staff very helpful and they have an extensive menu. I had the delicious Saag Panir(spinach with panir cheese) accompanied with rice and naan-bread. Also their onion baggies were lovely. I love the atmosphere around Lwr Clanbrassil Street, it’s really one of the best ethnic spots around Dublin.
