A couchsurfers hangout place. The traveling group«Couchsurfing» has their regular bar at Citi Bar so when st. Patrick’s day was coming closer, this was of course to be the main quarter for all the travelers coming to Dublin for the great event. We had been promised the entire second floor for all the couchsurfers and even though we were a great number we had been pushed to a corner. I can not help feeling a bit cheated as we had been promised the entire floor but looking at it from the owners perspective, they would earn more money if they did not care and just let as many people in as the bar could physically fit. Luckily my bf is a pushy New Yorker so we had a couple of American military guys move a table away from the window so we could all share the view of the parade. A great spot for the parade by the way. The bar was so full and people were so into looking at the parade that they were hanging out of the windows to get it all and to make as many people have a look as possible. Unfortunately I was not impressed by the parade. It was mostly American marching bands that had some but very little reference to the Irish community and knowing and having experience Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, this parade faded in comparison. Back to the bar. The prices are as anywhere else in the city center of Dublin. Pricey and so much that I only bought one beer the entire stay at the bar. I believe I can spend my money better at a place that promises one thing but gives another and without any compensation for the ones there. The bar is a standard pub and so is the look. Not anything impressive but a classic look for an Irish pub.

Stumbled upon this place after a 6:30am flight and a trip to the Guinness factory. Dublin is one thing: EXPENSIVE! I thought leaving the UK would give me a reprieve but I was dying to go back. So here we went. Seemed like the cheapest option and the free dessert seemed appealing. Plus they had shepherds pie which we were dying to try. The service was good, the main was yummy but the condiments disturbed me. I asked for more ketchup and it arrived with tough skin, like it was pre-poured and was just sitting there. That was gross. The dessert had no flavor and was def old as well. It was a puffy thing with cream in the middle. Cream was good, puffy thing was gross. Ah well.

I’ve only been here for the Irish tapas — which I think is an excellent idea! With a lot of cheap American friends visiting, Citi Bar is the best place for them to sample Irish cuisine. Though it’s probably not the best example of Irish food, at least there is some variety and it’s not expensive. I wouldn’t say service is the best, and my friend’s pour-you-own Carlsberg was definitely watered down(the waitress didnt make us pay for that though). In the end, it’s a great place to sample anything from Irish stew to Sheppard’s pie, and maybe watch a game on tv.

We went here for my friends birthday and they gave us 3 bottles of champagne! Other drinks that we got were expensive before the 2for1 deal started at 11:30. Music was okay, I don’t remember anything being great. Service is really slow – once drinks became 2for1 the bar was packed the whole time with only 2 or 3 people behind the bar. Just feels like poor planning to me.

Ziemlich netter Laden. Am frühen Abend kann man sich oben einen Drink genehmigen und danach gehts runter in den Disco Bereich.

Citi Bar is a nice place to go for a drink after classes in the evening time, just before the nightlife begins. There are 3 floors and each has its own type of crowd; the top floor holds a few people who enjoy sitting down over a few quiet drinks, the middle is a bit more lively, and people who stay around the bar, the the bottom floor has a dance floor for those who love to dance their night away! It’s nothing overly special, but there are a lot of young people and students so it’s a great place to meet up with friends and socialize with others your age! You’re also right near Temple Bar for a variety of places to go to before or after going to Citi Bar, and the night link is a hop, skip and a jump away!

I went back to this place because I was low on funds and pints costs 3 Euros and vodka Redbulls 4 Euros. I had to drink quickly because the chart tunes were driving me mental. The scene that night was kind of pathetic too. There were some very young looking people getting wasted. They were probably of age seen as the bouncer at the door was carding everyone. The rest of the customers were staying in the hotel, dying for a chat with a local. Some English girls were having a hen party and were dressed in horrific revealing outfits. Yikes! The atmosphere was a nightmare so I drank up and left. Next time, I should just go to the off-license to save money.

Citi Bar became a bit of a hotspot when they introduced those cheap as chips drinks on a Tuesday night. I think most students saw it as a place to drink cheaply that wasn’t their living room but that’s as far as Citi Bar’s appeal stretched. It’s dark and lacking in atmosphere. It also reminds me of Miami Vice, not in a good way.

Cheap drinks but a tiny dance floor. If you’re broke it’s a grand place for a night out but pretty basic in all other respects!

Citi Bar is definitely a mans sports bar. The men are as aggressive as the sports they shout at on the many screens on this place! Lots of male city workers come here straight after work on a Monday and Wednesday to watch the matches and let off some steam. However, it can be really fun on GAA match days when there is a gang of you of mixed lads and girls as the atmosphere is usually great and boisterous! But I wouldn’t come here with just a girlfriend for a drink!

Took over the student world with Twister Tuesdays, everything € 2, despite being universally despised as a crowded, sweaty and messy hole of a club. But we kept coming back, because we’re cheap. Went on a Thursday a few weeks ago. Still not a fan.

Citi Bar, known somewhat inevitably as «Shitty Bar» amongst its detractors, is smack bang in the middle of Dame St. It may have been something other than a nightclub until recently; all I know is that I had never really heard anything about it until they introduced their € 2 drinks night on Tuesdays, which is when the students began to flock to the place. Citi Bar is all things to all men(practically). Well, what I mean by that is that during the week, students frequent the place(though more 1st and 2nd year college students, and more hipster of students would probably have nothing to do with the place at all). Friday and Saturday nights drinks are pretty much full price, and the place attracts loads of scobes and jailbait: it’s not very good, avoid it. And then on Saturday and Sunday during the daytime, Citi Bar is a sports bar, which has at least one screen facing out into the smoking area, which is handy if you are walking along Dame St and you want to check the score. Citi Bar is perfectly respectable as a nightclub mid-week(they play shit music, but sure doesn’t everybody); a reasonable enough to watch matches in during the weekend and shite on Fridays and Saturdays. Succinct enough summation for ya?

I really like Citi Bar and came here almost every Tuesday for a year. There are great drinks promotions on and so a lot of the UCD and Trinity students can be found here. They have a small dancefloor downstairs and have 3 bars over the 3 floors. What I really like is that you can go to the top floor and just chill out, have a conversation with someone and not have to shout over the booming music in the club area downstairs. The staff are ok but the bouncers are not the nicest one’s you will meet. It gets really busy from around 1ish and there is generally a good atmosphere. It’s city centre location(just on the edge of Temple Bar) means that there are plenty of taxis around for getting home and a load of places to eat around it before going home.

Currently one of my most favourite bars in dublin, citibar is a major hotspot for college students, and the twenties crowd where i have yet to experience a night out without the place being absolutely packed. The bar is very central, with 3 floors, is wildly popular and is famous for its very cheap drinks(€ 2 shots on certain nights). It must be said, however that this venue is too small for the numbers that frequent it, so if you are in the slightest claustrophobic, stay well away from this place. It is best to go before 12 to avoid the queues. After this the dancefloor becomes one heaving mass of clubbers, and you will have to fight your way to the bar to get a drink. Another word of advice is to use the cloakroom before it fills up. The bouncers here are efficient, and the bar staff are flat out working until closing; just some of the factors which contribute to providing the ultimate night out at citibar where the atmosphere is electric.
