Came in for a quick coffee while shopping! Place seemed under staffed even thought it wasn’t that busy. Price for cake or biscuits was outrageous! So much so that I didn’t buy anything but a tea and medium coffee. Layout of the shop was nice and we didn’t feel rushed to leave.

As it’s a chain, there’s not much different about this Costa than others. That said, I came here really only to do work and because it’s sort of in the attic of Jervis, I found it hard to get connected to my internet, and the Costa wifi wasn’t working either. So not a place for the lappy-toppy, but always a reliable coffee.

This Costa is pretty big on the top floor of Jervis in the food court, and has lots of nice comfy seating with sofas. It’s pretty much the same as all the other Costa chains in terms of coffee, and I much prefer Costa to other chains like Starbucks or Butler’s any day, especially when in it comes to quality and price since they don’t charge extra for soya milk and have the best selection of food. Although not exactly cheap, they are cheaper than the other two and are not crowded or noisy all the time. They also have the nutritional values detailed for all the beverages and cakes. I love the cortados at Costa and they are always made to perfection, and the service is always great with friendly staff even when it’s busy. It depends what time you go, but in the morning and afternoon it’s nice and quiet, making it a great place to relax for a bit or even study! However, it can get pretty noisy from around 4pm onwards on weekdays, and earlier or saturdays. By the way, the coffee sizes are pretty big, with a large cup needing two handles, so I find the small size is more than enough. Also, flat whites and lattes are much more milky than a lot of other places in general, so it might taste quite diluted and weak the larger you go. Prices range from 2.90 for a small latte/cappuccino, 3.30 for a flat white and 4~5 for ice drinks and large sizes.

If its not crazy busy, its a decent place to sit and chill out for a bit. In my opinion, out of the chains, this has the best drinks and treats. Its more expensive than the rest, and they don’t do the offers ot6her places do. Thats cool though, because at least here, the treats are edible. The regular cofee is what it is. Nothing special, but it will pass in the dark with a small flame. I just had a Black Forest Fancy, which looked like a huge french fancy. It was actaully quite tasty. And I washed that puppy down with a Choclate & Orange Latte. Yes folks, thats my diet completely gone for the next 2 weeks. I gotta say, the drink was delish. It tasted like hot chocolate, just less creamy.(for me thats good, as I find the regular hot choclates too rich). Honestly, I wish I hadn’t a tried it. because now when I’m dead bored in work, and the cravings hit, I’ll know what within 4 minutes I can hold one of these treasures in my hands. Lads, I’m blankety blanked. Is there a shop that sells willpower?

It’s a nice place with nice coffee and very tempting(and I’m sure very ‘healthy’) cakes too :) Despite the place being quite large, there are several dividers that kind of create that false sense of privacy should you seek some. The staff was all smiles, very friendly — even after sorting out a very long queue of customers waiting to be served.

Really nice inside, but the coffee took about 10 minutes to get since their machine was broken. You’re a coffee shop, shouldn’t there be backup?

Well, I wouldn’t exactly call it, «an oasis of quiet,» like another reviewer described it. Noise depends on what time you go… I’m sure it is quiet during the morning on weekdays, but we usually hit up the place at 5:00PM on Friday and I can tell you that everybody and their brother is there. Toddlers wobbling around tables, strange hooded figures lurking in the corner(looking like they just got off the Moroccan spice caravan) and noisy Spanish girls infest the place. For a coffee shop, I am puzzled about why you can’t just get a cup of coffee here? Your choices are Caffè Americano, caffè latte or cappuccino. Costa tends to use an over-toasted espresso-roast for everything so if you buy an Americano it tastes burnt. If you buy a latte it tastes over-milked and wimpy, and if you get a cappuccino you’re back to burnt coffee again. On the positive side, they have extremely good lemon cake and lemon poppy seed muffins that were made by the Lemon Goddess herself. Some of the seating is good; try to grab one of the comfy leather benches with low coffee tables. Other seating is bad: Directly under an air conditioning vent with the wind blowing on you. What I would immediately improve: 1. Brew some plain old coffee, with medium roast beans 2. Clean off the damn tables once in a while What I like: 1. Staff is friendly, always positive 2. Lemon poppy seed muffins 3. Comfy leather chairs

Actually I’d give it 3 and a half stars. I was looking for a handy alternative to Brambles and so i went to the food court in Jervis and went for tea and cake in Costa. OK it’s still pricey, but actually I felt less ripped off than in Brambles. This time I went for green tea and carrot cake, and while it did come to voer 6 euro I got a very large swanky glassy mug of green tea(much bigger than the pot of regular tea in Brambles for the same price) and a fairly large slice of ver good carrot cake with real cream on the side. So it was quite satisfying. It was also an oasis of quiet, slightly dark, cool calm which is exactly what I needed. I might consider it as a handy place to write in future!
