Dipstrip takes wooden objects, collects them in a van on Wednesdays, dips them in some chemical magic and returns them the following Wednesday with the paint removed. I got some 1930s doors covered in five or six coats of paint stripped, which would have taken me days with a heat gun and scraper. I’m very happy with the results. Before the doors were collected, I removed them from the door frames and took off any insertions/attachments except for the hinges. Tony came in his van to take them away; I was away the following Wednesday, so the doors returned after two weeks. A tiny paint residue remains in some of the joins, but this won’t be hard to get rid of; the main thing is that the lovely wooden grain which was hiding behind old blobby paint is now in full view. Tony is a pleasure to deal with and will readily offer free advice on how to treat your wood after stripping. I highly recommend this service.
