Wow — super nice leather & repair shop! Off Cuffe & Harcourt just a few doors in. Bags, belts, wallets, coats, brief cases. A must — I guarantee you will find something you cannot live without

Donnelly Leathers is a nice old fashioned shop stocked with an array of leather goods from handbags to satchels and the like. I went in to look for a satchel/​messenger bag to reward myself for saving up for college. The bags were a little out of my price range but the choice and quality was great. The lady working there was extremely helpful and not at all pushy like a lot of salespeople are.

I got some zips on a pair of boots repaired here. It was difficult to find somewhere that still does this type of thing, so I was really pleased to find somewhere so central. It is a really «old school» shop that only opens half days. The repair guy was friendly and efficient and really cares about his work, which is refreshing. It was € 30 for the first zip and when I went back with the second a few weeks later, he only charged me € 25. Great and friendly service!

I’ve had a number of leather bags repaired here better than new over the years. Love the old gentleman who mends everything. If you’re not in a rush he has great anecdotes to tell all the while working on your bag with such skill.

Donnellys Leather shop is a shop of quality goods.
It may not be cheap, but you get what you pay for and that’s quality.
The first time I went here was over ten years ago to bring a much loved handbag of my sisters to get repaired. It was pricey enough to get done, but they did such a wonderful job.
I have been back on numerous occasions over the last ten years purchasing different things. Mainly small purses or wallets. The latest was a beautiful Italian made red suede pouch. I had been hunting the shops in town to replace a long worn out pouch that I use in my handbag. And in Donnellys I found this for 10 EUR, a bargain. It’s perfect and I know it will last a lifetime, unlike the pink Snoopy pouch I bought in Thailand five years ago.
It’s always worth a look in here, if you are looking for a present or just browsing.

I called in here with a Marc Jacobs bag as I had lost all but one of the screws attaching the plate to the bag. I meet a lovely gentleman who was able to open the bag and affix new screws in less than a day for a very reasonable cost. Highly recommend, please give them your business you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve never actually bought anything new from this shop (so be aware I’m really just reviewing their repairs service). For what I use them for they are great: friendly (in a gruff, old-​school kind of way), expert, efficient and reasonably priced. You can even park on the double yellows outside for a few minutes without causing an obstruction.

Leather is so in right now! It’s finding its way into everything in the wardrobe: shorts, skirts and tops and the fashion magazines can’t stop raving about how fab the stars look in their leather designs.
Donnelly leathers specializes in leather. The shop was around long before leather designs started scoring big points on the runways so they don’t necessarily follow the latest trends. They don’t have the little-​black-​leather-​dress or cutting-​edge pieces but they do have an extensive selection of leathery goods (coats, jackets, bags etc.), which can equally serve motorcycle enthusiasts and the fashionably minded. And I heard that they also do leather repairs, so if a gorgeous handbag with a broken strap is hanging in the closet aching to go out on town again, bring it in and see if they can fix it for you.

Bags, satchels, briefcases, wallets, purses, jackets — you name it, and if it’s made of leather, it’s probably in this store.
There is something really old-​fashioned and endearing about this place, and the lady who served me when I was there was really very nice. She reminded me a little of my grandma, which is always going to be a good thing!
And they even hand write your receipt — a nice, personal, like-​they-​did-​in-​the-​old-​days kind of touch.
