Maybe I should say in advance, that I’m a fan as I’m a member of the Dublin Camera Club for the past four years. But the membership there and hence attending the weekly meetings(Tuesday from 8pm) supports me in my interst in photography and there are always members willing to share their knowledge. The meetings take place in the Gallery room so any exhibition that is on can be seen then too. But otherwise the gallery is open to the public on Saturdays from 11am-5pm. As club members volunteer to mind the gallery and be available for any questions it’s not possible to open the gallery more often as we don’t have enough voluteers for it. The exhibitions usually change every month and vary between club member exhibitions and external exhibitions — but I think always worth while looking at. The current exhibitions are mentioned on their website.

This is the public face of the Dublin Camera Club… or their dedicated gallery at any rate. It is not open all the time, in fact it is only open between the hours of 11 and 5 on a Saturday to the public… which is a shame. Some of the work on view is very good and dare I say, inspiring. there are also a couple of pieces up at the moment that makes you want to shout«but I could do that!» and then run into the Fuji shop next door and spend the children’s education fund on a digital SLR you will never use… that never happened… honestly
