Been here for a casual drinker, a random stop off… Though I’ve heard good things about their food, I’ve not tried so review is purely on the bar/drinking aspect. Whilst agree, yes, it was early on a Saturday but this place was a little flat especially as they promoted themselves as a venue for the rugby world cup, there was very few people here and with just one TV in the bar, there’s really only 1 table where you can very comfortable sit and view TV otherwise you sit awkwardly/not as comfortable as you could be! The atmosphere fell flat so if you’re after a sports bar, I would continue the walk towards Dawson Street. I will definitely be back to try out their food/restaurant and will update my review :-)

Things I liked, drinks, décor. Things I disliked, the heat, the staff. I hate rating places down for simple things, but rude staff are the worst. And this guy seemed like the boss/manager.

€ 9 for wings and no fries with them? A bit steep I think! I ordered the fries anyway at € 4 extra, they were delicious, cooked in duck fat… but I felt a bit robbed to be honest. I was also served the wrong cocktail and I was told that I was in fact mistaken! Wouldn’t rush back.

Walked in after extreme jetlag just wanting a beer to take the edge off. Had a rich cream ale that was part of the beer of the week and continued to order a fish and chips to take me in a food como.(my room was almost ready up the street) On a small wooden cutting board came one decent sized crispy beer battered cod filet and little ramekin of chips, pea mousse, ketchup and housemade tatersauce.(all separately) I was a little thrown off by the portion expecting at least 2 medium sized filets. But honestly… gosh damn it was so good… i hate peas but the mousse was a great idea. The fish was steaming hot, crispy, overall fresh. Definitely worth a try. Plus the ambience is rad with the paintings, photos, and dimed lights!

«Huge Selection of Liquor» Had an opportunity to check this place out as a friend of mine was playing a gig there. Grabbed a bite to eat as well. The service was friendly and fast. The food was average. What impressed me most was the selection of liquor behind the bar it was a collage of bottles. It was an impressive sight to see. Located just across the road from St. Stephen’s Green worth a stop if you’re in the mood for a drink and don’t want the hustle and bustle of Grafton Street.

This is a 4.5 star review(if it were possible!). We reserved a table on a Saturday night and were promptly brought upstairs to the restaurant. The interior is dark and cool and the bathrooms sparkling clean. Now more importantly to the food. We got the octopus and crab croquettes to start with squid aioli and they were rich and creamy. We were off to a winner. Next came rib eye steaks and spaghetti marinara. Both dishes were delicious and all our plates were handed back with nothing left. I tasted the chips that comes with the steak and have to say they are really good. The fish in my marinara was really fresh and the sauce full of flavour. To end we chose the milk parfait and chocolate mousse-tasted like a really good version of a snickers bar-yum! We also got a strawberry dessert and it too was given the thumbs up. The wine list is a bit pricey with only one wine I can think of under € 30. The two whites we had were very good including a bottle of vicar’s choice. The staff are all very friendly and you get the feeling they really care that you have a good experience. Afterwards we went downstairs to have lots of delicious cocktails. The place was buzzing and a great night was had! Go on give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find.

The ox cheek and smoked cheddar sandwich at lunch is worth all four stars on its own. The meat really is delicious. The brown sauce is like a sweet and sour gravy that the meat has been soaked in. It works a treat. The sourdough is great and the cheese is melted on top of the bread. The chips were great(and thankfully the staff stalled me from ordering more as a side). Even the green salad had a twist, a decent chunk of mint leaves interspersed. It really works well. I’d go so far as to say this is one of the best knife-and-fork sandwiches in town(I used my hands, but few others would). I’m surprised others had disappointing portions with other menu items at lunchtime — but can say the ox cheek sandwich gets an unreserved two thumbs up from me.

Dropped in here for a few casual beers the other day and really liked it. They’ve a serious selection of whiskeys and craft brews which is great. The tunes are brilliant and the artwork on the walls is very quirky indeed. We got some smoked almonds as a bar snack which were delicious but very pricey. It’s the kind of place that’d be perfect to drop into on the way to the sugar club but is very busy on a Friday/Saturday night.

If you are looking for a decent Irish breakfast, look elsewhere. We were told that they’ve started to serve brunch a couple of days ago and were hoping to get something really exciting for this price. Didn’t work. Tiny portions, taste leaves much to be desired.

Don’t know about the food but it’s a great place for a drink. Love the bar stools lining the… bar! It’s one of those places where sitting at the bar is actually encouraged. You don’t get in the way of customers or staff. And you still have the chance to have a quiet chat without pints passing in between you and your mate. Didn’t notice the pints being too expensive. Have heard the wine is over priced. The best thing here is the stacked drinks display behind the bar. It does really feel like a New York spit as the name suggests. We might as well copy them since Manhattan is full of irish pubs. It’s dublin hipster in a good way and I will be back for drinks!

Had lunch here today and it was really disappointing. The portions are just ridiculously small. Which is a pity because it’s cool inside. When I ordered the waitress warned me that the vegetarian salad listed on the menu for € 7 was small and suggested I get a double size(not on the menu) for € 14 or a side(all about € 4). I wasn’t very hungry and figured how bad could it be so I went with the salad on the menu. Well was I wrong. I wish I had taken a photo to show just how tiny this thing was. I’d say about ten lettuce leaves and two figs. I’d barely even consider it to be side salad size. If you realise your portions are so small that you need to have your staff warn customers and suggest that they pay double for a decently sized portion then why not just increase the portion sizes? Surely it would cost very little and would be good for business. We also had to wave at the waitress both to order and to pay which is just annoying on your lunch-break. Okay rant over. I won’t be back for food. Might try it out for a drink and a cheeseboard some evening though because it really is nice inside and in a great location.

Looking forward to trying this place. Unfortunately after getting charged € 7.50 for the cheapest sauvignon blanc wine I won’t be back. They know it’s the most popular type so plainly trying to rip customers off. Shame because it does have a good vibe. 1 extra star for free wifi. well I think its theirs
