Wasn’t impressed with this eddies, we ordered cheesy chips and buffalo wings and both lacked sauce and heat… Considering its one of the more expensive fast food company’s I would expect more from eddies!

Love this place. The staff are always very understanding of my friends’ and my blatant insanity and leak of ability to decide on which milkshake we want. Bravo, Edward. Bravo,

What I expected, good food, fast service! I got the jalapeño cheese burger and some sweet potato fries. Fries were the star of the show. Prices are really great and I will certainly be by again when I’m feeling like american fare.

If you’re after a nice burger with fries look no further, Eddie Rockets is your freshly fried food destination. The theme is apparent from the moment you walk through the door, you’ve taken a giant leap into the 50’s! Clean dining area and fair prices make Eddies a nice impromptu dining spot. Staff are friendly and don’t seem bothered by their uniforms which really take Eddies theme to the next level. Four stars for a fun dining experience that doesn’t as anything from the customers, just enjoy the kitsch and remember no elbows on the table!

For a fast food joint this was decent. I had the Ultimate Veggie burger with grilled mushrooms added — it was quite tasty but a bit messy(the toppings made a break for freedom out the back of the burger)! The menu offers a good range of options with customisation and there are several veggie options. We were going to the Cineworld next door so it was a handy place for us to grab some food first. For three of us the bill came to nearly € 40, which is a bit steep for what you get, but it is a better standard than the usual fast food outlets. I liked the 50’s Googie style décor as well — neon rocketships, etc. made me think of Fallout. Really I want to give this 3.5 but there are no half marks so rounded up

Oh Eddie’s, what’s happened to you :( I used to be a HUGE fan of Eddie Rocket’s, my old reliable. Lately I’ve noticed their burgers have been shrinking and their prices have been going up. Because of this, my boyfriend has refused to go here with me lately. Yes, fine, it’s more expensive but still, it’s Eddie’s! It’s yummy and always really good! Even if you’re getting a little less than you used to… Or so I thought. Last night we came to the Eddie Rocket’s on Parnell Street — it was one of the most disappointing burger experiences of my life. Sad face. From where we were sitting we could see the hot lamp tray that all the food sits on when it’s been prepared and ready to be served. We noticed a burger put up there about ten minutes after we ordered. I could see it there out of the corner of my eye and realised it had been there for ages. Twenty minutes passed since we ordered(which is quite a long wait for Eddie Rocket’s) and we still hadn’t been served, and the same burger was still sitting under the lamps. After twenty five minutes(!) they eventually brought us our food, and of course that stale looking burger was ours. Both burgers were dry, we couldn’t tell which one had been sitting out. Mine(veggie burger) was the same burger they always serve, but dry and verging on being burnt(not quite, but pretty overcooked). The staff were not particularly friendly. Overall, a disappointing experience. I haven’t been to this one in a while, but I feel like the standard is just lower. Won’t be back to this Eddie Rockets.

I used to love Eddie Rocket’s. Their burgers and chicken wings were, at one point my favourite foods. More recently, Eddie’s has really gone down hill. They have started charging ridiculous prices and the quality of the food has gone way way down. We dropped into the Eddie Rocket’s on Parnell st for an impromptu pig out. We ordered ad it took them about 35 minutes for them to finally bring the food. We could see my burger under the hot lamps for about 15 of those minutes The Jalapeño Popper at one point was the pinnacle of burgers in Ireland for me. Lots of peppers, cheese, sour cream on a lash of hot sauce. What I got this time was kind of a sloppy mess(see picture). Most of the jalapenos fell out the back of the burger. My girlfriend’s veggie burger was really dry. She used to love these but she was left very disappointed. All in all Eddie’s was once a fantastic burger spot. Now they over charge for burgers that are not as good as they once were.

Do you want a full explanation of why this place blows? I don’t think it’s really necessary. The late night kebab places are so much better, so don’t go. But if you need a long winded explanation, here you go. Out of hunger pangs desperation, my girlfriend and I went there on the middle of a Temple Bar pub crawl. Perusing the menu, I notice the Bubble Dog(plain hot dog with a Prosecco split) which sounded perfect as I love both items. My girlfriend didn’t want a hot dog, so she asked for sliders and a split as well. The server said the ONLY way to get the Prosecco was to order the bubble dog. What? When you’re charging 8 euro for a 1 euro split of wine, why wouldn’t you just take it? The food wasn’t great either and as many other places in Europe inexplicably do, we were charged a pp cover for eating late night. Just don’t do it.

I have had a pig out in this Eddie Rockets more than once, I admit. However, I just popped in here the other day as my friend was ordering a take-away. We waited at the bar. And suddenly I saw one of the ‘chefs’ taking a burger patty out of the deep fryer and throwing it on the grill. Wait. What? Since when is burger meat deep fried? Gross! I’m only guessing they do this because it was taken from frozen, or they forgot about an order and wanted to speed up the process. One can only guess. We asked one of the servers about this special technique of ‘cooking’. He just plain denied it. UGH! Anyway, my friend got her burger, ate about a quarter and was fairly sure her burger was the deep fried one(completely dried out, greasy piece of meat) It was just off putting. I know one does not go to Eddie Rockets for healthy food. But there’s a difference between a dirty auld burger and a dirty auld deep fried burger.

Pretty cool decoration. Don’t waste 20 cents cuz the radios doesn’t work :(Things like«eat and get out», «get rich or die frying», «don’t steal our cutlery, we know where you live» everywhere!!! Creepy! Besides all that and the grumpy staff the food is yummy! Garlic and cheese fries, sweet potato fries, cheese-pleese hamburger, the vegetarian and vegan options are also very tasty.

WOOOoooh !

Everybody judged me for getting pineapple in my burger. I’m not sure what came over me, but I’m glad, and would do it again! I love going for a burger here after a movie in Cineworld. The menu has changed again but the classics are still available and that’s what counts.

Our latest visit to this Eddies and it was really busy. I feel there should have been more staff on to cope with the amount of orders they had on the go. I always wonder on these occasions why some businesses allow for the numbers of customers that they don’t have the floor staff to cope with it. But that said, they coped better than I thought they would today. It was a much better meal than our last visit, that’s for sure. And the food, which did take a while to get to our table, did not take as long as I thought it would take. I had the chicken tenders, which were a good — nom! I also shared a fries, with a cheese sauce on the side. Man that cheese sauce is soooo good. All good, will be back for sure.

I love the milkshakes from here especially if i’m taking one into the cinema next door(although im not sure you’re allowed!) as they are so big and lovely. My favourite is the vanilla oreo but lately have started to try the reeces’ peanut vanilla milkshake and i may be converted. Of course i don’t like to think too much of how many calories are in one i would reckon a whole lot so wouldn’t have one more than once every month or so! The chicken cheesy burger with blue cheese and sweet potato fries are mouthwatering but be sure to wear trackie bottoms so that you can let the belly expand. Then while you are sitting there signing and digesting you can think of how you can work off the big meal you’ve just has, maybe a jog, a trip to the gym or a game of basketball? Or a stretch out on the sofa at home? Naughty.

I really like Eddie rockets. But the last time I was in this particular one, it was pretty bad. My drink was warm and flat, the fries were undercooked and the burger didn’t have the correct cheese and the bap wasn’t as fresh as it could have been. I’ve kept it at two stars as a previous visit wasn’t too bad and it was very busy this night. But for a franchise you expect consistency.

Went for breakfast with a friend on a weekend morning .Very warm greeting by a friendly waitress who showed us to our table The lighting and interior décor really is amazing and old school 60’s Americana. Very nice atmosphere Breakfast was not so nice though :(. streaky bacon that was way completely overdone, sausages didn’t taste that fresh, scrambled egg overdone, mushrooms overdone and I left well alone! Bread was nicest part of meal unfortunately. Coffee was okay as well . Friends and acquaintances have recommended the breakfast hear so maybe this was a once off I think I will try a milkshake next time

I like the look of Eddie Rockets, and its the main reason why I keep returning. I have been to this Eddie Rockets twice, but I’ve never felt completely heartbroken when I had to leave. It’s not the prices really, because when compared with other gourmet burger joints, this diner is actually relatively cheaper. It’s prices also seem to run parallel to other establishments selling milkshakes e.t.c. I guess it’s the quality which always leaves me slightly disgusted as I walk out the double door. I recently had a brownie milkshake, and was met with a glass of pure vanilla, with huge chucks of broken brownie pieces at the end. It had not even been blended, and was clumping quite badly in the tall grey container. I also ordered the Louisiana Red Sauce wings, and immediately felt sick two wings in. They tasted just horrible, with the sauce having a strangely sweet aftertaste. Granted there was 20 little wings in a bowl, with a generous helping of blue cheese dip, but I was couldn’t stomach it. This was all made quite worse, by the signs hung up everywhere telling you to, «get out», after you’ve eaten. I get that it’s a joke, but jeez, does it have to be everywhere? I wiped my hands with a «heavenly scented» wipe, and that too had, «eat up and get out» on it. Wasn’t that«heavenly scented» either, smelled like a Dettol. Got to give credit to the waiters and waitresses though, because they always seem to be smiling and upbeat. The diner was also immaculately clean. Having said all this, I will return to this Eddie Rockets, because I always return to Eddie. Abusive relationship much?

Rocket’s Parnell St. is on a very good location which is beside Cine-world. It was last Saturday night, after I finished the movie, which was an as good as trailer movie as the first one BTW. The environment there is very American — red seats, old school jukebox and waitresses in kinda sexy uniform… Just like a scene from a Quentin Tarantino’s movie, where some gangs siting there and chatting. I order a portion of chicken tender, and a glass of 7up. When the waitress asked me how about some fries, I did say«I am okay.», but I did get some fries though. All these cost me 13.5euro, which I think is not worthy… This is my first review here And sorry for my bad English

It’s not far from where I live, the food is yummy(they do sweet potato fries, nom), it’s not *too* pricey, the staff are friendly, it’s near-by the cinema and the Ilac Centre and their juke-box is always playing some cool 60’s tunes that have you shoulder-dancing at your table. Win.

Over in Philly there was Johnnie Rockets, a suspiciously similar retro burger joint chromed and red-pleathered and smelling rather satisfyingly of chip fat and meat. Here it’s Eddie Rockets and there’s nowhere quite like Parnell Street’s burger joint for pre-movie munchies. It’s pricey here in ways no establishment calling itself a diner should ever be — which is why Hubby Himself often pays — with two burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshake and diet coke(the lynchpin in weight gain) coming to about 30 yo-yos. …For that money you could get a gorgeous Indian dinner form Bombay Pantry, fill the tank for a VW Lupo or buy a pre-worn hipster top from Urban Outfitters. Here, it’s greasy spoon goodness. The service is prompt, the wait-staff efficient but quiet, and when your deep-fried side order isn’t to your liking, they’ll replace or refund without fighting(it really does happen in Ireland). And with a second entrance that leads out to the Cineworld complex and theatre it makes dinner and a movie easier than ever.
