€ 10 for a three course lunch, with top quality food and massive portions: what’s not to love! The location is a little out of the way and the service, while fine, wasn’t overly friendly or welcoming, but the value for money and quality of the meal more than made up for this. The décor of this restaurant is gorgeous, cosy and interesting with lots of photos and newspaper clippings all over the walls. The pizza oven and kitchens are visible from the seating areas which I always find reassuring. Definitely try this one out if you’re in the area! **having been back here again, the service was fab so must have just been an off day! I’ll add another star when they get consistent!

The special of two course plus wine was a nice option for a Saturday night. However, we didn’t really enjoy the food. It didn’t taste very fresh. The atmosphere was nice and the people were kind but I’m not sure we will return.

Very disappointed wih the food. I went for soup it didn’t tast of anything, two went for garlic bread one with cheese one without, the garlic bread was pizza base with burnt garlic. For main I had the chicken it was nice but just enough for a sparrow. One had spaghetti carbonara fairly bad. The other had tomatto and chilli way hot. They really need to work on the menu it is simply not up to standard. Nice atmosphere but poor food, they could learn a lot from there competitions da Minos in north strand. I don’t normally review but if they wish to survive they have to up there game

13 of us had a great meal here yesterday, even after the kitchen had meant to close for the afternoon! Delicious vegetarian gnocchi followed by tiramisu and all washed down with a great red wine(I never got the see the bottle!)

Perfect! I didn’t belive, that I will found one of the best, real Italian restaurants in Ireland! The dinner menues are great in price and quality. 15.99 for a starter+menue(pasta or 9inch pizza) and a glass of great italian housewine is unique in Dublin! The meals are very dilicious and good looking. We didn’t try all, but the restaurant is also a wine bar with a wide selection of good italian white and red wines. Five Points!

Nice atmosphere in this restaurant, with kitchen and pizza ovens visible when you walk in, but not too obtrusive once you’re seated. Large windows, so its bright and airy. Very friendly and helpful staff(gave us a complimentary glass of wine when my partner asked about the lovely house red we had as part of a set menu). Starters: Insalata Caprina — goats cheese in pastry, with lovely sweet sauce and rocket salad with walnuts, really delicous. Breasola, dried beef with salad — very small portion as one would expect, but very nice. Mains: Pollo ai funghi — grilled chicken, succulent and moist, with a spicy tomato sauce and salad. Spaghetti al Ragu — mince meat with tomato sauce and Parmesan. Nicely cooked spaghetti, rich sweet sauce. Would probably be classed as relatively expensive if one went for the regular dinner menu, but the set meal of starter, main and glass of wine for € 16 was reasonable. Should say that our portions were quite small, as mentioned by other reviewers… but quality over quantity as I have oft been told:-)

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel and since it’s the closest to the hotel we decided to try it. Unfortunately our experience was not as good as the others. Perhaps the tourist thing — I don’t know. Anyway, it definitely seems to be a place with faithful regulars who are devoted to the food and the owner. In the latter case the devotion appears reciprocal, even for those he doesn’t know. Except us. Specifically, he massaged the shoulders of the lady sitting next to me first(who he knew) and then the one who followed her(who he didn’t) — that was a bit strange. Bigger problem came when I ordered the Insalata Caprini. I didn’t like it — both the goat cheese and tomato jam were too sweet for me. My companion told him of this — we both felt this way and asked for something else. It was brought but he made me feel bad by putting me on the spot — «you don’t like it? But everyone loves it!!» I don’t doubt it but there was no need for that. It was repeated more than once during the dinner. Aside from that, my risotto(really small portion) was good. My mom’s pasta(yes, she should not have gotten the arrebiata) was way too spicy, even though she’s used to spice. One bite was all she ate. I felt bad. I think he came again questioning why she didn’t like it and he may have even offered a change but I’m not positive. It was too much at that point. We had the special and while others consider the prices reasonable, for us from the U.S. it still seemed like a lot, even had all the food been eaten and not wasted. When I go out and pay for it, I don’t like feeling excluded and like a target. Not fun.

the food is good. sometimes spectacular. you can tell they really care about what is coming out of the kitchen. good wine list. i’ve had a variety of apps, pastas, pizzas and entrees here, all fantastic. waitstaff is hit or miss. my husband went with his brother to get a table while i met my friend, they sat down and ordered a glass of wine while waiting for us. when we walked in, my friend was talking a little loudly, but wasn’t anywhere near intoxicated and the waiter said, «we’ll serve you food, but no alcohol,» to both of us, although the only thing i did was walk in with her. last time i checked, i was in dublin, and drinking is allowed. we all left. i’ve been here at least 10 times and was shocked b/c i’ve never encountered that type of attitude before. to be fair, there was a concert at croke that day, so perhaps they were making assumptions based on the the previous diners? there have been other times i’ve had to chase the waitress down for my check, but that’s better than it being shoved in my face ½ way through an entrée. they do like to clear the table before you’re ready to give the bread/olives/dinner up. staff is knowledgable about the wine list and don’t try to oversell. trust them.

Great local restaurant for Drumcondra, and north city centre. — fresh & interesting choice of starters and mains. Pizza’s are amazing and cooked in a proper pizza over — love the choice of wine too. Waiters are really, really friendly(although one criticism is that they can err towards taking olives and food off your table before you have fully finshed). Overall, I would highly rate this as a fab local eatery.

Living in Drumcondra, this has become a regular stop. Part of the Wallace group, who have several Italian spots around town, it offers Italian food, wine, and beers. Menu is simple — with a selection of Italian starters, main courses, deserts, and recently, pizzas. I like their take on the basics — simple starters like breseola, bruschetta are done well, relying on the quality of the ingredients(bread here is always good), and the pastas are a typical mix of the classics(arrabiata, carbonara, etc.). Was delighted to see when we were in here the other week that it was hopping(Friday night). Wine selection is good — you can buy any of the wines in the place to either take away or have with your meal. We’ve had great advice wrt the Italian wines and found a few new favourites along the way :-)

So tonight i wanted pizza… Again… but was sick of that generic domino’s and four star take away crapola., plus i wasn’t around the Aungier st. area so i couldn’t visit my regular spot Hell for a bready feast, instead i decided to try the take out pizza from Asti. and it did not disappoint! Usually i like my pizza the way i like my bank balance… Fat… but tonight i tried the Asti pizza, which is thinner than a siza 0 supermodel(those i also like), and it was GUUUUUD! and a 12″ pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni that is only 8euro is not a bad thing(They make a profit on this???)!!! Happy days for me and my bank balance(although that resembles more like Asti’s pizza’s)! Cheap delish eats for less then a tenner. I love this place!!!
