What a fantastically fun afternoon! We had one hundred American colllege students briefed on the history and importance of Gaelic games, and then taught basic hurling, football and handball. Within half an hour of hitting the pitches, they were battling each other with great enthusiasm if not skill, and afterwards we had a hearty meal courtesy of the club’s chef. The beauty of Experience Gaelic Games is that the instructors assume no knowledge or level of sporting skill and communicate their own enthusiasm and passion for the games. This is great for non-sporty Irish people and non-Irish people curious about an essential part of Irish cultural life. Fantastic fecking craic. Fair play Georgina and Cormac and all at Na Fianna GAA.
