Very good Cornish pasties! They had a better selection than many of the Cornish pasty spots in England. There were steak and chicken options, and many more. The few that we tried were all fantastic, so this is a great option for a late night snack!

Man these are some amazing cornish pasties. Doesn’t matter if its noon or 3AM these pasties delivery the same punch and flavor every time. My favorite would probably be the traditional, but the mint lamb comes a close second.

I stumbled into Hanley’s today for a quick bite to eat before my next appointment. I asked the gentleman behind the counter what he recommended and he suggested the Chicken Tikka Masala, but as soon as he said that, my eyes caught sight of the Lamb Mint. Now, all of the pocket pies look the same, but I simply love lamb, and that’s reason enough! Most of the pies are € 4.95 and you get a drink for € 6. Or you can get the Unilocal check-in offer for a free drink! The Lamb Mint was not bad, but for the price, it was pretty filling and the lamb was pretty delicious. The crust was pretty flakey, but some of the contents of the pie were mushy and the texture wasn’t the best. I wish they listed what was in the pie, but they don’t. If they served the pies with some sort of gravy, that would be the cherry on the sundae! Only downside of my experience there was the man behind the counter didn’t know what Unilocal was and was definitely unaware that there was a check-in offer. He thought I was trying to scam him, but he gave me the drink anyway. I’d come back and try the rest of the selections! Pretty handy for a quick meal on the go, if ya ask me!

Small indeed ! Its simple, basic, but unique… there isnt many places that offer these kind of cheap to go foods ! Same qulality food as the likes of the food in the delis of Centra or Spar(which I love done get me wrong) but here is a little bit dearer and not as fresh… I ordered the chicken tikka …(after I was told there would be a 55 min wait for the regular chicken and veg :-/), € 4.95 and tasty enough but pastry was extremely dried up. chicken a little dry to as if they had been sitting there for a while. you get what you pay for though and it was certainly edicble and filling. so unless you have your heart set on something cheap to go thats not a sambo or sausage roll(from the likes of Spar) then by all means come here… otherwise… go to a deli… it is nice to support the little indempendet businesses though and think outside the box …

Hanleys is well, Hanleys. It’s a hilariously small and equal parts awesome Cornish pastry shop right in the middle of the Temple Bar area. For touristy-folk, it’s by the river, center of town. As the place is so small, it’s actually quite hard to write a review focusing solely on a takeaway place that is probably not much bigger than the average bachelor pad at best. That doesn’t mean that their food doesn’t represent — it does, and well. Food choices are actually vegetarian friendly, but of course that doesn’t necessarily mean healthy. We had a potato and cheese pastry, and it was delicious. I have no complaints. Very inexpensive, as well. This also happens to be right near an intersection where people are always trying to sell something or play music, as well as a number of other interesting places like the pie shop. All in all, this was a great place to just stop by and pick up a pastry to walk around with.

Good cheap food on the go. I had the traditional with steak and veggies. It was really good! This place is right off the main road in the Temple Bar area.

As I was griping in my head about how expensive food is and how lackluster it had been, I stumbled across Hanley’s Cornish Pasties(p(aa)sties, not p(ay)sties…that’s definitely something different). Hooray. The value was great, the crust was tasty, and the chicken was tender. Like a chicken pot pie hot pocket. Yes.

This place is sooooo yummy! It’s a small little shop, tucked away in the Merchant’s Arch. I walked around Temple Bar like 4 different times to try and find it, found it on the last attempt. The pasties are nice, flaky, and hot when you get them. You can get one and a soda for 5 euros. Not big enough of a meal for dinner, but good for lunch or a snack. I’d recommend the traditional flavor. The Steak and Gravy flavor wasn’t as good.

These are the best pasties in Ireland. They have a good selection with different fillings and every one I have tried has been lovely. It’s also handy as it is in the little lane way between Ha’ Penny Bridge and Temple Bar, so if you are out on the lash and passing through the area you can quite literally grab one on the go sure.

As an Irishman, I’m genetically incapable of refusing a novel way to eat stew. That’s basically all a pasty is, handheld stew. Hanley’s pasties are pretty tempting too, golden crusts filled with chunks of meat and veg. They’re surprisingly filling and cheap too. Just the thing if you’re looking for something uncomplicated(i.e. feeling lazy). The place is strictly a grab-and-go spot. There’s a couple of token seats, but you’re better off taking your food with you to fuel a trip around Templebar.

Cornish Pastie? Cornish Amazing. Small — perfect for the flying lunch visit — I had the chicken and vegetable pastie with a can of coke for five euros. Hot, delicious awesome. Server was friendly, going so far as to advise me to get the chicken over the steak and gravy. Not too filling either like some lunch portions, it was just perfect, leaving me still a bit hungry.

Seeing as my life revolves around the Temple Bar area, I was very surprised I hadn’t noticed this place before. And it was just on the day I wanted something diffrerent. There isn’t much choioce on offer, maybe 5 or 6 different pasties but the smell grabbed me by the scruff and dragged me inside. I ordered one of the large traditional steak pasties and oh… my…God! Each mouthful of meat, pastry, onion and turnip was seasoned perfectly and a party in my gob. The pleasant spanish guy behind the counter said I’d struggle eating it all which I doubted but he was right. 10 minutes later, I was a happy yet stuffed Slim. Handy place to know about if you need something that’ll fill a gap when you’re on the fly

You know a place is serious business when fans build a Facebook page for it. Long established on Dawson Street, Kevin Hanely debuted the latest outpost of his Cornish Pasty empire in Merchants Arch, Temple bar in December 2009. Already legend amongst hungry Trinity students(the brains behind that facebook site), these flaky pastry pockets of rich, savoury goodness are a welcome addition to the fast street food already on offer in Temple Bar. The shop itself is perfect for a flying lunch –barely more than a brightly coloured open air cove in the narrow hall of Merchant’s arch. A few seats crowd under a single wall-mounted table and a large coffee machine hulks by the register, but the most space is devoted to keeping Hanely’s wide selection hot for passers by. Never tried one before? Keep the training wheels on with a traditional steak and onion pasty –wrapped up tight in golden pastry. Once you’ve gotten a taste for that lovely stuff, move up to something more adventurous like their holiday special Turkey Cranberry(next on my list). Oh, and that bearded bloke behind the counter? That’s Kevin himself. If you don’t get a chance to say hello, tweet him at @HanleysPasties.
