In my top 5 Dublin bar’s due to its décor, food, friendliness of staff. However misses out on top spot due to pricing could be more competitive. All round very pleasant place to be.

This is my second time to visit House for midweek lunch. I am 50⁄50 on if I love the place. Pro’s are its really cosy and decorated very fancy. Both times the food was really tasty and well presented. Today I had the superfood salad for lunch and as salads go I enjoyed it a lot. The service was quick and friendly. Price is medium for lunch compared to places close by. Our seats were in a nice position beside a fire which I appreciated on a cold winter day. Con’s — I’m not sure if the staff are overly busy but they seem to forget orders on both times I have visited for lunch. This time a coffee never came which isn’t a huge deal. But the first time I visited here for lunch a year ago, they forget us and we were waiting an hour for food even after we reminded them we were waiting on two occasions. They also sat us out the back garden, fine for the summer but it was spring in Ireland and quite cold. We asked about putting on the overhead heaters and the lunch time staff didn’t know how to turn it on. No matter how nice the food was, I didn’t enjoy it sitting shivering. I’m glad I went back today for lunch as it was a nicer experience and made me think I may do another lunch there soon.

Have been here a couple of times. Staff are always super friendly and professional. Great décor and lovely spilt areas that create a fantastic atmosphere. Always a nice crowd as well.

Don’t get it… First impressions, I just don’t get it! Yes, it’s a great looking bar and has no many different sides to it, my fave being the garden area out the back however between the service and the food, I left a little disappointed after having this on my go-to list for so long. It was a quiet early afternoon, we sat out back and it was a little windy but what was so annoying is that every like 5 mins, the waitress keep closing the electric awning only for the manager/host or dude that doesn’t have to wear the uniform, kept opening it… I felt like shouting, Oi, cut it out! It was annoying, the noise plus let’s face it yes it’s a gorgeous garden and some natural light is better but it’s windy and chilly so just leave it closed, you’re not the one sitting out here with your cardigan and scarf still on you! The food also took some time to come, the waitress was possible new at this as she was very awkward coming and going from the table; the final straw was when my husband was still eating, she came to clear away dishes, ok, take mine away however she proceeded to consolidate his plates including moving his knife and fork off the plate he was eating from; back off lady, he’s eating! Some basic dining etiquette and it just wasn’t displayed by the staff. There was also a delay with our drinks, having ordered a drink within 5 mins of arriving, it was nearly 30 mins later before we got them. The order went to a bar that was closed, so the actual barman never got the order, didn’t feel this was dealt with very well and as I ordered a cocktail, it then took another 10 mins after they discovered the mistake before we finally had a beverage on the table. tut tut! I only live up the round from here however it’s just not impressed me; wouldn’t be rushing back.

This is a hard one for me to rate, the venue is beautiful, staff charming and drinks tasty, if a little on the pricey side, but the clientele that the place attracts has put me right off. I know I may dress a little differently, favouring vintage and 50s reproduction clothing, but I hardly look like a recently landed alien, which is how I felt on Friday when I came in for some post event drinks. As one of my friends pointed out it felt like being in a zoo, with constant inappropriate comments being made to the females in my group, which is a pity, because its such a stunning space. I was in again on Sunday and had a lovey afternoon tea, and would highly recommend trying it, presented beautifully and really tasty it was a far better time to enjoy the surroundings and I will be back again for it. but can’t see myself returning of a weekend night.

When I first moved back to Dublin I literally went here every week– not sure what has changed but I don’t frequent here as much. I do really like House particularly on a weekday evening when it’s a little quieter and you can get seating comfortably outside. One thing that does bother me from time to time is that you will turn up and it will either be closed for a private function or you are in the midst of a company event. The drinks are good– cocktails can be expensive but you feel that you are getting your money’s worth. They offer a food menu which is Tapas I believe which is good but again expensive. The age range is probably mid twenties to late 30’s.

Hmmmmm. First impressions as I walked in was Wow, cool looking place! As I ventured down deeper it kept getting bigger! Then you go out the back to the garden area. Just as cool and just as big! Décor and layout is absolutely on trend. There are about 3 bars scattered throughout the pub so either they get incredibly busy or it’s easy enough to get a drink without waiting for ages! So we sat out in the garden area. It was a little cold out but they closed over the roof top and turned on the heaters for us! Just perfect. So we ordered our food and drinks which arrived to us with our food(25mins later) as the waitress sent our drinks order the the wrong bar! Anyway, our tapas arrived. We ordered the Patatas Bravas with chorizo, breaded mushrooms, chicken sliders and beef sliders. To be honest, the paratas Bravas was the nicest part of our brunch! The beef sliders with blue cheese had hardly/if any blue cheese. The chicken was incredibly dry but over all it was ok! Just OK! Towards the end of the meal I was still finishing my burgers, side plate to the left of me and an empty plate in front of me with my fork resting on it as I was still eating! Our waitress came over and started to remove some empty plates she proceeded to reach over me, remove the fork from the plate which was in front of me as I was using it(The hint is, my fork is still on it, food still in my mouth), picked up my fork and placed it on the side plate, then removed the plate in front of me! Ehhhh — What just happened! I was stunned tbh! I’m still eating and she is removing plates from underneath me! So, I’d say this is a good place to meet for a few drinks after work or for a party but I wouldn’t be back for the food again.

Big fan of House, very nice and friendly staff. Tapas is good and filling, cocktails are delicious it all adds up with the hefty bill but sure one only lives once. The crowd in House is great, it’s easy to chat with friends while listening to old school music that I remember from the 90s. Il

Really enjoy going there for food, coffee or drinks. Inside is pretty spacious but cosy at the same time with lovely interiors — the«homely» look really works — but my favourite part is the covered garden area. It’s pretty big and just LOVE the way it’s decorated, the chairs, fairy lights. very very nice. They serve some pretty good food as well and staff is always really friendly. Will keep coming.

I was here recently on a Saturday evening for cocktails before we headed elsewhere for dinner. The interior of House is very impressive with the garden out the back a beautiful and relaxing place to sit in the sun. Everyone was happy and smiling enjoying their drinks. A very good buzz about the place. What disappointed me about House though was the service. While we were given menus quickly it took an age to get someone’s attention to order our drinks and even longer for the drinks to arrive. When the drinks arrived they were good. But nothing special. We had to quickly finished up our drinks as we were now late for our dinner reservation. More delays trying to get the bill so we decided to go to the bar ourselves. When the bill arrived 3 extra drinks were included that we did not order. I will go back to House to give it another go when I have more time. It is a lovely place to sit and chill but be warned it is slow slow service and check your bill before you pay!

Yeah not a bad spot, a very decent night was had! I don’t know will it become a regular haunt but it’s worth a visit. Was there for a work do and a BBQ was provided. I must say very tasty. Lots of different areas in the place, something for everyone. Prices about what I would have expected.

We came to the classy House for a quick lunch but it turned out to be anything but quick. House exudes modern elegance and seems to attract business clientele. The décor is quirky, we sat at an old boardroom type table with low comfortable armchairs for seating. The first thing that struck me when I walked in to House was the opulence, I can’t express how rich everything is. The cocktail menu only helped to enhance this feeling of elegance. Even though it was lunchtime on a Wednesday we all went for a cocktail. I went for the Cuban Ivy which was a rum based drink with a sharp tangy aftertaste. As with any good cocktail it was extremely moreish, but I managed to resist a second. Food wise I opted for a simple club sandwich but to be honest it was a little dry and a little bit of a let down. I really liked House overall but the service wasn’t great — at one point a waiter began to take our order and then drifted off half way through, it was a bizarre moment and he never did come back, luckily another waiter was on hand to take the full order. Overall House was ok, not exceptional, but definitely worth a visit.

Probably my new favourite haunt in Dublin. Classy and cool the crowd who frequent are a good bunch. Drinks are at decent prices and the food is fantastic. The massive covered garden area makes for an attractive destination for drinks when you have smoker mates or just fancy some air away from the loud music. Bonus is the two dogs outside!

Great for drinks, dinner or lunch. Their décor is great, the garden area is chilled out and the staff are great. The food is a bit pricey but worth it. You can reserve an area in the garden for drinks but it gets booked up pretty quickly so you should do so well in advance

House– what a great bar! It’s so homey — obviously why they call it House. A nice bar in the main room and a great bar/patio in the back. Friendly staff!

I came here for lunch during a weekday(haven’t been here for drinks yet). It was super low-key, well-lit, had lots of nice spaces and was a great place to have a chat. They have a nice menu for lunch choices — there’s salads, soups, sandwiches, full meals, and bites. Definitely get the bravas to share — they’re super yummy! I loved the sour cream and salsa sauces that came on top. My salad was really good and the prawns were very fresh. I would definitely come back for lunch some time!

It was described to me as a night club for grown ups, as it turned out it was a pretty good description(whether i like it or not, I am 40, I am a grown up, there is really very little I can do about it!) We spent the eve in the greenhouse, out the back, beside the very ornate and warm smoking area, the bar was impressively stocked and comfortable. Highlight of the eve was the cocktail ordered by one of the guys — it came in a glass skull, it was cool!

This really is one of my favorite places in Dublin, I take everyone here. Their cocktails are delicious, the décor inside is beautiful, and I am absolutely in love with their garden. The garden also has another bar outside, that looks like a greenhouse. I have now tried every item on their menu(yes, really. We go in groups) and it’s all delicious. The steak crostini are my favorites, followed by the breaded mushrooms. On the weekends late at night, it becomes a club. I have to say it’s not my favorite as a club, but I like chilling there with cocktails or wine on week days in the evening.

This is a really trendy and nice place. Since it is pretty posh here, you would expect the prices to match. And they do. Lunch is nice here in the garden terrace if the weather is good. Also great for weekend drinks, as the terrace is one of the biggest and nicest in Dublin. I was really surprised when I walked in here how nice the place is. I hadn’t been yet. Definitely worth checking out on many levels. Seems really popular with groups of girls on the wine for the afternoon– every time I have been here there have been many of those. I can see why they like it.

Is this hot spot a big secret or what!!! Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from another this is the place to mess around! So, I gave it a shot and am here to shout about it with flying colors! You wouldn’t know it was there if the statues of two dogs located at the entrance didn’t catch your eye. It’s a spot that is right in the heart of Georgian Dublin. Enter into what used to be a Georgian home but has been transformed into one of the coolest — if not THE coolest — spaces in Dublin. Private lounges, parlours, sitting rooms, tables for two and a huge garden space abound in the House. Grab a seat — there’s a wealth of them — and eat, drink and be merry. There is literally no bad seat in the House! The lunch eats and lite bites are visually appealing. And, the cocktail, wine and beer list is absolutely extensive and somewhat reasonable. There are several bars to get your drink on as well! Then there’s the garden /patio space — the most inviting and gorgeous patio setting I have seen yet in Dublin. This is not a beer garden — it’s a champagne dream! In the evening, the red room downstairs turns into a nightclub. Cover charges are collected at midnight. Also, apparently, there’s an ‘open house’ now and then which is a way that this establishment gives back to the community for keeping it in business! It’s the best kept secret in Dublin but now it’s out of the bag!
