Irish Red Cross is part of one of the most recognized humanitarian assistance networks in the world, The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Established in 1939, The Irish Red Cross provides emergency aid to communities that have been damaged by conflicts and natural disasters, overseas as well as in Ireland. They have for example raised € 1 million to help flood victims in Ireland, thanks to donations from businesses and the Irish public. Other Red Cross services in Ireland include the Mountain Rescue Team, youth work and care for the sick and elderly. The Red Cross also organises First-Aid training courses, something everyone should learn, as you never know when you’ll need to be a lifesaver. To help support their good work, you can make a donation, organise a fundraising event or be part of their team of volunteers

Do some really excellent work both in Ireland and overseas. Did their practical first aid course and PAD course and instructors were really good. Courses very enjoyable. Also heard about their work in Malawi looking after HIV/AIDS victims and their families. Pretty impressive.
