New Owners now, good wi-fi at last! I like the coffee here, and I like hanging our there, don’t really like the bar at the front, but then again that’s not my seat, I like the back area. 2 new menus also but haven’t tried them yet. Will be trying them this week an post back. They told me they are changing the name from James Joyce Bar as it hasn’t worked too well for them.

This is a spot that for the longest time I have passed by but for the most part the sight of folks drinking too early in the day made it seem more like a heavy boozer spot. The other day I had a meeting in there as 3FE was not open yet. I was actually really surprised at how big it is in there and it has a large screen at the back. The coffee was not great, but again I am a snob with coffee BUT the service was wonderful, so friendly and efficient which is fantastic. I just can’t see it as being my type of spot, it felt like a hotel lobby and I think that it is, there was a lot of tourists there. Again not as offensive as the perception I had developed!

This is reviewed as a café that has free wifi. I was in town with my laptop and wanted to get some work done and needed internet access. James Joyce’s café bar is not so much a café but a bar that happens to have a coffee machine. Some of the bad points are that an espresso costs € 2.50, seats are uncomfortable, no cake(I like cake) and I hated the music that was playing. Still it has free wifi and if I wanted pints instead of coffee then maybe it would have got a higher rating. Overall not some where I want to spend an hour or two catching up with email and doing some work.
