Kay’s isn’t too bad: it’s mainly deli food with choices of sandwiches or salads customised from the deli bar, and they also have soup, a few hot dishes like fish cakes, bruschetta and quiche(which are reheated), a small selection of cakes and pastries as well as a selection of breakfast options like scrambled eggs and full Irish. I had a custom salad from the deli which was pretty ok, standard deli food with nothing to complain about but nothing in particular to praise about either. The good thing about this place is that the prices are really cheap and the portions are big; I paid € 7.95 for a large salad(5 options), and my dad got 2 bruschetta which were only € 1 each. The café was not too big but there was still a good number of seats, and the staff were pretty nice too. Overall, an inexpensive and quick but fairly standard deli option that’s handy when on a busy shopping day!

I was here a month ago with a friend, and I had a look around. I saw that they have a good selection of parties, cakes, and tarts for your morning breakfast, afternoon coffe or tea and a huge selection of food which includes also the Irish breakfast, if you are interested. I tried the fruit salad and I had an orange guise, plus cappuccino and a cookie, I liked it. The coffee didn’t surprised me so I am just giving 3 stars. The café is quite big, they also have a second floor and more table just inside on the left side when you face the kitchen. What I liked are the picture on the walls. The price seems affordable, which is good too. I didn’t order any food, so I cannot say if it is good or not yet. Anyway just looking at the photos suggested here on help, it seems that the portion are generous, so go for it ;-) I was there with a friend, but they have tables so if you are in a group or more than 2, you can find your spot. Not sure how it is on rushing hours as I went there on a Saturday morning around 9. It was quite. It is self catering, so once you have decided what to eat, you go to the trail and pay for your selection. The stuff is friendly, which is good. I saw families at keys kitchen so I am sure that it is good place for kids too.

Now the Kay’s I’m talking about is the brand new Kays that opened this weekend in Lucan inside Supervalu. It’s an ok size. The employees were very friendly. I ordered a Philly sandwich and it was quite nice now the meat was very but very chewy the chips were chips nothing amazing I expected more and everyone was raging about it… Like for the price for what it was … 12 euro for a ciabatta bread and some little pieces of meat inside :/I was enjoying it until I saw this long piece of Black hair in my salad… I almost gagged… All employees were wearing hair nets… So I called over the manager took away my plate came back and gave me a full refund and said that she was extremely sorry and said coffee on the house… And I replied actually I would like to order another Philly sandwich as I didn’t even finish my plate it was still pretty much untouched and she said of course and brought me a brand new plate… No charge. So yeah pretty much got a good meal. It’s ok nothing amazing. I wouldn’t go back unless I had to have a quick dinner after shopping in Supervalu.

Ah I love Kays amazing selection. Everyone thinks its expensive but the portions are huge. I had half of a rotisserie chicken with a baked potatoe and small caesar salad. with a drink for 12.95. it tasted great but was waaay to much food for lil ol me :). my mam had the full caesar salad and loved it but once again too big a portion. They have a huge cake selection. great salads.sandwhiches.pies etc. the list is endless.

I came here for lunch before and had a nice tuna melt. Today’s roast beef panini was a disappointment. I ordered roast beef, cheese, red onion and tomato. I bit into the sandwich and upon my first bite — I chewed down on a large hard piece of gristly lard. I had to discreetly spit it into my napkin as it made me feel nauseous. Knowing there may be more lard, I lifted the lid of my sandwich only to find that each piece of roast beef was trimmed in a thick layer of lard. I cut it off and was left with the«other half» of meat. What was left was tasty but by then the sandwich was cool. And the onion was white not red… Not good with roast beef!(See photo of lard remains)

Ordered a vegetarian Tofu Pad Thai, which is on the menu. I was told there was no tofu, so had just a veg pad thai. A few bites in and I realised there were bits of chicken in there, seemingly by accident. Eek. Won’t be going back.

A place, with a salad bar, noodle and pasta bar(wokked while you wait!) and deserts and coffee/tea. ‘My’ chef made the noodles exactly as I wanted: without this, a bit of extra that, and as spicy as I desired… Excellent!

Sunday selection of cakes are great! But the staff just work their… nothing more than for money, none of them seem interested in running the place. The set up is and always was awful. They allow people to sit down and wait while their friends or whoever is with them go up and get food/coffee/other purchases. It’s frustrating because when you have a full tray from queueing up like a customer should, you turn around from the counter/cash desk and the place is filled with people and shopping bags and prams but no food on their table as they are all waiting for the person they sent to get food to come back. Management do not give a toss. losses 3 stars for general customer service. Food is good.
