My first impression of the Kings Inn was that it looked like an absolute dive. Still I decided to give it a shot because I like pubs that don’t take themselves too seriously. And that’s definitely true about the Kings Inn. It’s a dark, dingy kind of place. On the plus side, the barman was nice and the pint of the black stuff was pretty good as well and pretty not too dear– I got change back from a tenner for two pints. It was pretty quiet but then again I was here in the late afternoon, so it was too early for much of a crowd. Still, the Kings Inn isn’t a place I would chose for a few quiet ones, because the atmosphere wasn’t that great and it’s just a wee bit on the wrong side of scruffy to be my kind of place.
