The barber here was less of a knight and more of a keystone kop! This is not an inexpensive barber shop. They have a nice array of shaving supplies at the front and a very masculine and professional feel. This seduced me in the door and into the barber’s chair. It was here that I had the absolute worst hair cut since I was seven and thought I’d give a go at it myself. I informed the barber I did not want an electric clipper being used. He nodded and then proceeded to use one. I protested, but it was too late, he already got a good clip off. He insisted he had to at first, but would then touch up with a clipper. He cut my hair so short with the electric clippers, it looked like I re-enlisted! In no way did I ask for a buzz cut, I was quite clear and even showed him a picture on how it was mid-length. He wasn’t even very good with the clippers, some parts of my hair were cut way shorter than others, to where it was just mm from my scalp. Yet with all the buzzing and clipping, I still had an uneven edge along my neckline and parts of my ears. I assure you I’m not that asymmetrical! Returning to work the following day was like a humiliating hazing ritual as people asked if I cut my hair myself.

I’m not a man, and I’ve never had a haircut in any barbers, not to mind Knights of the Green, but I really like this place upstairs in the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. In fact, I would go as far as to say it is one of the most characterful shops(is a barbers a shop? ah yes, barbershop quartet…) in the whole mall, with the knights armour guarding the front door. There’s a very sophisticated air about the place, but student haircuts are only € 10 on weekdays. They do hot towel shaves and use top of the range products for men.

No that is not a real Knight standing outside the store… i checked. This is a Barbers that is the kind of place you to for a treat… it’s mens only. I bought my dad a hot towel shave and a haircut here as a Christmas present. he loved it and said it was extremely refreshing. A close shave like that is sometimes better than any Gillette Mach 50 or whatever shave you can give yourself and the staff are supposed to be super chatty.
