Not the usual library I need to use because the Nursing Books are in the Ussher Library but sociology books are located here so I use it from time to time. Good thing about the Lecky is its nice and bright. Books are easy to find if you use the catalogue search on the TCD computers first. Bad thing about here is there are limited sockets for computers. Coming close to exam time you will get a seat BUT maybe not have anywhere to plug in your laptop so make sure its fully charged and make sure you get here early at exam time(before opening at 9am). Plenty of places to get tea and coffee… DONOT hold onto a seat and vanish for 2 hrs by leaving your books there… They will get moved!

Out of the three Libraries that make up the BLU complex in Trinity College(B-erkley, L-ecky and U-ssher), The Lecky is by far the ugliest and least usefull… well for me anyway. I think it houses the economics and politics books. maybe some sociology too. The library itself is just not appealing in any way. The colour scheme is a bit pooey and the seating and desks are too communal to be good for studying. you just find yourself talking over the table to a friend. There are some nicely hidden desks for the quieter studier however they can be a bit cramped up behind big shelves. The library is accessed by the Arts Building but it meets up with the other two libraries in a central area where it is nice to have a sit down anda quick chat with a friend, as long as the security guard doesn’t catch you. Quick tip. if you go down into the basement below the Berkley you can find perhaps the most hidden desk in the whole place. if you dont mind the hum of the AC system this place is where you will never be found… just dont get locked in!
