We were so excited to eat here as there were so many positive reviews on Unilocal. When we arrived we ordered the cod and chips combo with a soda. Service was pretty quick and it was hot when it arrived at the table. The battery was extremely hard on both ends and pretty much fell off of the fish when cut with a fork. Overall the fish and batter lacked any flavor and pretty much just tasted like oil. The chips were thick cut and pretty standard, but also lacked flavor and needed a lot of vinegar and salt. I was so disappointed in this chip shop and I cannot believe that it boasts to be the«best chip shop in Dublin». Also I should mention that for cod, chips, and a can of coke I paid 11.50 Euros which is pretty expensive. The only positives were that they had inside seating and the portions were large.

Accueil très moyen, aucun sourire ni effort de compréhension. Attitude peu habituelle de la part des Irlandais! Un bon take away mais je pense qu’il y a meilleur côté fish and chips.

I’m not the biggest fan of greasy food, tends to give me heartburn and although this Leo Burdocks has been here years its probably my first time coming in here in years. But i had limited funds and was hungry so decided to check this place out finally. The seats have green padding and are very original looking, as in they look like they’ve been here since the 80’s but the café is clean and tidy. The fish as nice, just the right amount of batter and a good size which is important as nothing as bad as a scrawny piece of fish. They even threw in a few chips which was generous of them and the chips taste like they were freshly cut and cooked. The staff are professional and friendly too which helps.

It may be a bit greasy, but I’m a fan of Leo Burdock’s. We order from the one in Phibsboro all the time and our favorite is the Whirly Burger. I’m an American and my first thought about the Whiry Burger was that the Irish found a way to take an already unhealthy meal and make it down right disgustingly unhealthy. But, I still love it. It’s big enough that it can be your whole meal and it costs less than 5 Euros. I’m not a fan of their chips. If you order online you can pay with a credit or debit card(for an extra charge of a Euro), but they only take cash in person.

Kids love it just ordered to go! Big batter burgers and even bigger fish! I think they like it for the crispy bits of batter they sprinkle over the chips. I haven’t eaten here before but worth a change. I will be back! ;-))

Disappointing. Placed an order through for delivery and paid for it, at 10:50pm on a Saturday night. At 11:40pm, still haven’t received my order. LEOBURDOCK just decided that they didn’t feel like filling my order in the last 50 minutes that they were open. Have heard so many good things about this place. Not impressed.

Batter is very heavy and doey. Though I’m sure they are very nice to customers I’d avoid this one for the thickness of the batter on the fish alone. Anyone else think it’s a bit pricy? Chrunchy crispy light batter = Winner Thick doey«where’s the fish here» batter = Yuck!

Nothing more and nothing less than your local chipper. And part of the well-renowned Leo Burdocks-chain of fish’n’chip-shops and restaurants. You can eat in and take out, but please expect nothing fancy like coleslaw to your battered sausage. It’s all fried up — but the quality of the fish is exceptional, and the staff is always friendly. Made me actually feel like a local after my second visit.

I’ve had a chips and burger feast a few times here — and a battered sausage once too! I have to say as takeaways go, this Leo Burdock’s is the business. I wouldn’t make a habit of eating my dinner there or anything, but every so often there’s no harm done. There’s a bit of an odd queuing system going on though — one counter, two doors and you’re meant to go in one and out the other. I always get it wrong but at least nobody has ever shouted at me. I’d imagine if it was really busy though it might get chaotic if people were mixing the entrance up with the exit!
