There was a wedding happening in Trinity College’s chapel the day of my visit and I was surprised and delighted to see all of the women wearing fun little hats! I suppose this is some sort of Irish wedding tradition or something, but I found it so charming. Some of the small bits of headware were really cool; I saw one girl wearing a tiny top hat!
I wondered where these girls had found such marvelous little things and soon found one great resource: The Mad Hatter. This itty bitty little store is literally filled from top to bottom with hats. Now, it’s not a typical hat store with a wide variety of styles. All of the hats here are for women and most are geared toward a formal event. There are some cute wool hats for winter, but overall you’ll find those wedding toppers in every color of the rainbow. A fun little store!

My mate needed a hat for the races so she stuck her head in here, I know I crack myself up too. I tagged along. The place is full of hats, so full that I felt like I could not raise my arms for fear of breaking something, so I just smiled and walked like a penguin that leans a lot.
I thought it was pricey but then again I don’t make a habit of wearing ornate hats with my tracksuit bottoms, perhaps I should jazz my slob look up a bit for the dole office but I digress.
Friend in question, found the people really helpful and they placed her pretty head with something that really complimented her outfit, off she headed to the races a happy gal. She also got a tonne of compliments. So a thumbs up for the Mad Hatter.
