This pool is a great facility for area, and has been much improved since its post flood refurbishment. The pool has a good range of opening hours and is decent value admission at € 5. Although the water was a bit too warm on my last visit in my experience the it has always been clean and not too heavily chlorinated.

I bring junior here every Saturday for swimming classes, he loves it, he is 4 and a half and the smile on his face as he oh so very carefully lowers himself into the pool is worth every penny… and it is worth noting that it is not a particularly cheap hobby, least not for the classes which cost 100 Euro for 9 lessons. The pool room is very very warm, almost makes you want to take a dip just to cool off; but I am there usually as an observer; I don’t think Junior would appreciate my joining the class. The place is always spotless, the changing rooms immaculate, the staff very friendly.

A long tree lined avenue leads from the front gates of Marian College to the main school building. The olfactory onslaught of chlorine hits as you cross the basketball court in the centre of the school complex and approach the front doors of the swimming pool building. It’s a great little pool if you get here reasonably early in the day or late in the evening, when the only competitors for the lanes will be a few older folk doing some gentle exercise, and the odd serious swimmer who comes every day to do 100 laps without taking a breath. Any time between midday and 7pm though you’ll have to compete with the lunchtime exercisers from the offices in the area, and parents with schoolkids splashing about in flagrant disavowal of the No Horseplay signs. The Leinster rugby team has been spotted doing some training sessions in the pool here on a number of occasions.
