Twice visited, twice impressed. Great customer service for a start. Got the 3 course deal(think it was 3 course for 19.99) with garlic bread, calzone and brownie/fudge cake to top it off. Will definitely return for my pizza fix. Great thin pizza and calzones on offer.

After more than a year of holding out, we FINALLY broke down and ordered food from Milano in Ranelagh. I set very realistic expectations so when I collected my food, I was only looking for an average, 3-star meal. What I did not expect was a cold and utterly tasteless pizza. We had ordered the Melanzane which was topped with the usual(pizza sauce and mozzarella) as well as marinated aubergine and basil. Our house is literally a 3 minute walk from Milano so the only way I could fathom it being so cold, would be if I carried the pizza with the lid open for the whole walk home. Hoping for a little salvation, we heated it up and attempted to eat it. There was no flavour. All I could taste was chewy pizza dough. If it weren’t for the texture of the cheese and aubergine I would have sworn that I was eating plain, greasy bread. In addition to the pizza we had ordered a chicken Caesar salad. The chicken tasted okay but I am at a loss for what sauce they tried to pass as Caesar dressing. I tried eating a few bites with their«dressing» but ultimately had to toss it and use my own. For me, this is the worst pizza I can remember eating, possibly anywhere. Huge pass.

Friendly staff, I love their thin base pizza. They now have many healthier options(pizzas with 500 calories).

10 € for a beer??? Are you serious??? I understand the concept to «force» people to drink wine… but I’d like to decide on my own what u drink. The pizza was not too bad but I think for 16 € I can expect a better perfirmance! Sorry, second try but no improvement!

There was a time when I would champion Milano’s cause to skeptical friends. Even though it’s a chain, I considered it good value, reliable and reasonably tasty for what it was. Really not true of this Milano’s, which is the first one I’ve been in in quite a while. We went for a family lunch last weekend and it was a fairly unanimous response that it was totally below par. To begin with, the chairs in the whole restaurant were so low that my mom(and myself) could barely get our elbows on the table– no real exaggeration. We aren’t exactly tall amazonion women, but not unusually short either. I can imagine many people have this issue. We asked about different chairs and cushions, of which they had neither, but the waitress said«we are changing the chairs next week.» Ah ok, that’s perfect for us. Anyway, on to the food. Many things on the menu seem to have shot up a couple of euro. You can still get the basic pizzas around the same price but the super thin ones(that don’t even come close to fitting on the plates) are all about € 15– ie. the price you pay in Paulie’s and the likes for totally fresh pizzas that can’t be compared to these. I ordered lasagne and it was«grand». The meat was more like a paste than just minced, which I find a bit gross, but the tomato sauce was tasty as was the bechemal. My dad, who is on some bizarre quest to find Dublin’s best Caesar Salad, sampled their offering and gave it a very definite«25 out of 100». We all ordered rasberry sorbet for dessert which was only ok. My americano was watery, not good at all. The staff were very friendly when at the table, but pretty inattentive considering how quiet it was. Overall, a disappointing meal.

There’s a Milano in Ranelagh now! No better place for it and I was with a group of fifteen that had booked a table here for Saturday night. We were place upstairs, where three other tables were also occupied. We had an excellent waitress that played a stormer. Unfortunately it appeared she was the only waitress for the first floor area of the restaurant. She was run off her feet, literally… she was actually running at one point. So as you can imagine it was slow service as a result, but we got there in the end. My pizza was excellent, I went for the Calabrese which was slightly sweet and a nice hot at the sametime. I recommend that one. The chocolate truffle ice cream was very nice also. Food was good, but the staffing was not good. I will be back, but if the under staffing is occurs again, it may be my last visit.
