This place has the best fish and chips. The fish was coated in a mustard coating before being battered and fried, giving it a zesty spin on typical fish and chips. The fries or «chips» were thick cut and freshly fried, and compliment the fish perfectly. The next time I go back to Ireland, this place will be my first stop.

First time here and not my last Arrived on a rainy day for brunch with friends It was very quiet but I did like the décor ! Waiter was nice and patient as we had to wait a while for friends that was late . Brunch menu very good choice and I got pesto chicken was lovely, friends got eggs benidics was lovely. Bloody Mary was a let down and no draught beer a negative too . Once choice of cider too a bit negative bit overall in the food and service definetly recommend !

Great smell drew us in of garlic and awesome. Service was friendly and informative. Presentation was very high end, to quote my wife«oh yeah, high and tight…» Flavor was delicious and we quite enjoyed everything.

Stopped here in search for dinner around 9pm our first night in Dublin. Was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Even with a small hiccup in our order(they ran out of an entrée) the owner quickly fixed the situation and added in a round of drinks, without question. Steak cooked as ordered, tasty vegetable medley, and a trio of fish between my husband was almost too much food, but so good! Definitely recommend!

I absolutely adore this restaurant. It is actually one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin! I had my 30th birthday dinner here a couple of years ago over candlelight. There was a pianist nestled in the corner not far from the table which added to the ambience of the evening! The food is always beautiful and for € 25 for two courses, you can’t go wrong. Not only are you getting exceptional good quality, service, and ambience; you are also getting a glimpse into old world Dublin. You’re likely to find a few familiar Dublin faces. Take a look around the next time you go in and see who you can spot. I can’t wait for my n car visit! NOM

An unplanned stop at this place turned into an amazing meal. The beef dishes here are phenomenal and the clam chowder is to die for. Prices are very fair and service is nice but slightly slow. I would recommend asking the waitress their favorites because that led us to order what we did and I definitely didn’t regret it.

Good appetizer of Salmon with shrimp. Chicken Kiev was disappointing, well fried and crispy but no kiev. A waiter who was in a hurry(only 2 other people in the restaurant) did not get our wine order right and put my tasted glass of wine back into the fridge! We’ll see how the cheesecake is.

Forgive me, Lord, for being a selfish Unilocal taker for many years. I want to make it right with a fresh and positive review. Eight days in Dublin and this was the best food I had all week, hands down. My Millstone meals(yes I came back for more) gave me a much needed boost after surviving many days of dumbo repetitive pub food and sad attempts at foreign cuisine. The menu is simple, yet sophisticated. The chicken focaccia sammich was amazing. Well played, Millstone.

This is a little gem for brunch! I dont think many of the cities brunchers think of this place as it can be quite dark and not an obvious choice for the hipsters of Dublin BUT if you are looking for a delicious slap up brunch at a very reasonable price you MUST try here! They have all the usual brunch dishes but the portions are much bigger which is something I am very appreciative of when going to brunch starved after a night on the town. You wont pay more than € 10 for a dish and the muffins the various egg dishes come out on are so tasty and extremely filling! The atmosphere would be my only disappointment here. There simply isn’t! Its dark and there’s no music playing or any sort of ambiance. I always feel like everyone can hear my conversation when I’m there(Could be just because I have a very loud voice) And for people in there 20’s/30’s it can be an older than this like much much older which is not necessarily a bad thing but if you are planning on having a boozy brunch and having the lols chatting about the night before this setting might not necessarily suit you. It definitely worth a try for the delicious food alone.

I love the Millstone on Dame Street. This was the first restaurant I was brought to for a proper lunch specifically for my diet. It happened to be a date and he was making a great impression. I walked in and was handed a completely separate menu and informed they made their own bread. I was in heaven. Since then I have been here many times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a lunch deal on for € 10 where you get a main course and tea, coffee, or a soft drink. Included in this menu is a steak sandwich on their gluten free bread! They haven’t disappointed me at any time of the day, food-wise anyway. I would recommend making sure you’re not sitting at the table under the stairs, I bumped my head on it a few times, including on my birthday of all days! I went in a few weeks ago for dinner with friends. We were seated quickly. Because we opted not to have starters we were waiting a while for the food, but that was our own fault. They generally only have a limited number gluten free menus, that I know of, in circulation. Myself and the other half were asked to give one back when we were choosing our dinner because they were short. It’s not the first time we’ve been asked to hand one back so it’s worth noting that if they’re busy they need more menus. Anyway, the food is great and the staff are always friendly. We had lamb and shepherd’s pie for mains and a brownie and crème brûlée for dessert. They normally have gluten free apple pie, but had run out on this occasion. The beauty about their menu is they have a full menu to choose from and not a selection from the main menu. Makes you feel normal! I totally need to go in here for brunch again soon! I’m getting hungry…

I went here with some work colleagues for lynch today. They have a great lunch menu, one course and a soft drink for € 10 or two courses plus a soft drink for € 15. I chose the Irish cheeseburger which came with tomato, pickle, choice of cheese, shoestring fries and garlic mayonnaise. The burger was enormous and delicious and several hours later, I am still full. Others in the group ordered the chicken foccacia and the club sandwich which also looked great. My coeliac colleague was delighted with the coeliac menu, a fantastic addition.

I am a huge fan of this place and have been going here for years. It is just perfect for every type of occasion, I have been here on a first date, on an anniversary, with my parents, with my in-laws and with friends, it seems to cater for all. The atmosphere here is perfect, it is so cosy and relaxed and welcoming. The staff are fantastic and just let you get on with things, very helpful but not in your face or always hovering around. Last time I was here there was an amazing guitar player singing away entertaining the guests. The early bird menu is super and such great value but the main reason I come here is because of the food. It is delicious and good proper fill you up portions, I always leave here stuffed, but always leave room for dessert because they are gorgeous here, especially the apple crumble. Another reason I love this place so much is the excellent vegetarian choices on the menu, we are well catered for with interesting and tasty choices, not a boring pasta dish in site, but instead creative soups, giant stuffed portobello mushrooms and what they cannot do with goats cheese I don’t know, as every goats cheese dish I have tried here has been divine. I even had a main dish with tofu and chocolate sticks, now you don’t find that very often in Dublin. I have never had a bad experience here and everybody whom I have brought here has fallen in love with it and come back for more. I am sure you will too.

At around € 90 for 3 courses for 2 people and a bottle, this isn’t the most expensive of places, but it’s not cheap either. There was a guy playing the guitar, which wasn’t too loud and added something a bit different to the place. The waiter was very attentive and we were never waiting long to be served. The food itself was very good, and I would definitely return for an Early Bird offer or something similar.

Lunch here is very good, and it is a great little spot. I wasn’t aware of it until I saw it from the higher floors of the Central Bank building during a visit. I have the seabass, which came with excellent crushed potatoes and very tasty sauce, its € 10 incl a soft drink. I’d love to go back in the evening and try their pizzas!

I got the vegetarian lasagna which was good but not as good as my Mam’s take on it — I will make it for you someday. The guy playing the keyboard was a fun tacky touch, good singer… He pretty much made it through most of the Beatles tunes by the time we finished our meal. I thought it was a tad pricey even though I wasn’t paying. Roughly € 15 and that did not include sides. Service was great but I felt we were asked too many times was everything OK and whether we wanted dessert etc. Would I go back? I don’t know the building and atmosphere is nice but I feel I can get better value and bigger portions in other places.

I was very impressed with Millstone… this was one of the best meals I had while I was in Dublin. I ordered cheesy garlic bread for an appetizer. The presentation was great and the bread was very, very good. For my entrée, I got a surf and turf style meal, which was a filet with shrimp and lobster claws. The filet was super tall, yet still cooked perfectly medium rare(not an easy task). The shrimp was also really good. The only weak part of the meal were the lobster claws, which lacked flavor until I dumped them in the garlic butter. Overall it was an amazing meal in a very nice restaurant. I have two minor complaints. First, they don’t give free refills on pop. That’s just lame, especially for a nicer restaurant. Second, the live music was like a poor man’s Wesley Willis(look it up) playing this super cheesy electric keyboard. Kind of goofy.

It might seem odd to write a review of this place when I’ve only been there twice and ordered the same item both times, but I must say their butternut squash soup is one of the best I’ve had in Dublin — and it’s a great value at € 4.50! My friend and I have been here twice and both walked out the door feeling full from just the soup alone(and the 2 pieces of bread it comes with). See photo. Service has been very nice both times. I’ve only been there midday so cannot comment on service or atmosphere for dinner, although the other reviews sound nice. Would recommend the place to a friend and will probably go back myself. Try the soup!

The Millstone restaurant is a sister restaurant of Miller’s Pizza Kitchen on Baggot Street, so they have the same great pizzas and much more besides. The restaurant itself is funky, with piped music coming out the door as you walk by on the street. It’s very cool inside with an almost French feel to the old building. I was here for Valentine’s dinner with some friends and we had a great meal. Lots of fun, roses from the waiters, and fantastic food. They have a much larger menu than Miller’s which includes steaks and more seafood. Pizza’s just slightly cheaper than Baggot Street(€ 16 – 18) but other main courses are expensive. Sides are separate too. We were really fussed over and had a lovely night. Keep it in mind for dinner in town.
