We ate there last night and the only good feature was the piano player that they have providing background music — a very nice touch. Other than that, overpriced and subpar food. We should have realized that it was near empty on a Friday night for a reason. I ordered the Veal Alla Romana and my friend ordered the Crab Claws. The waiter asked if I wanted any potatoes with my food, and when I said yes, he asked how I wanted them cooked, so I said boiled and assumed that they came with the meal. They did not — not a big deal because they weren’t expensive on their own, but the meal that I ordered was, so I wish he would have said something. My food was disappointing for the price, but not terrible. My friend, however, found a staple in one of the crab claws. Stapled into the food. We called over the waiter and explained the situation and he seemed stumped as to what we wanted him to do about it. We had to inform him that it is customary to replace a dish when a customer finds a staple in it. He shrugged, took the plate away and replaced the dish. He then spent the next twenty minutes standing near the kitchen doors, leaning out of them every 5 seconds to peer at us. We could see him staring and it was very uncomfortable. We were charged for the full meal and the waitstaff was unapologetic about the situation. So, in sum, they charge too much money for subpar food and have a waitstaff with a strange, borderline rude, manner. And there might be staples in your food. Skip this place.

Netter Italiener. Toll war, dass es unaufdringliche Live-Klaviermusik gab. Der Service war etwas unaufmerksam. Das Essen war ok, der Wein etwas überteuert.

My friends and I decided to try somewhere different for dinner, and wound up at Nico’s. All of us regretted said decision. They had a pianist playing some music near the entranceway which was a nice touch to an otherwise very stuffy atmosphere. However it was the food that was the biggest disappointment. My salad was greasy — seriously how do you make a salad greasy! I also had the ravioli in brodo — which were a bit bland. One of my friends complained that his fish had no flavour. All this at pre-recession prices too! There are much much better Italian restaurants in the city centre.

This is a delightful little Italian restaurant i discovered from various family outings. It was always such a treat to go out and eat in Nicos. The restaurant itself is a delight with a wonderful atmosphere. It is often packed out so it is recommended to book ahead of time. The food is a good fusion of both Irish and Italian with a chefs special changing daily. They offer the usual Italian meat and pasta dishes. The food will set you back at least twenty euro, which is cheap enough to eat out in the city centre. Its easy to find and in a good central location. The staff are pleasant and the service is admirable.
