This is the bigger Oasis in the city centre and to me it seems like they also have a wider selection of clothes available. I spend hours browsing through the clothes and trying on different things. The shoes are great as well, and the flats are comfortable and also last very long. Oasis do a good mix of classic pieces– black trousers, cardigans and blazers– as well as some more directional pieces in a decent quality. I can honestly say I’ve never not found anything I liked in here. It’s a bit more grown-up than Topshop and also a bit more pricey, but not too expensive.

Oh Oasis, full of humdrum clothes for the easily satisfied, disillusioned or those that don’t know any better yet. Like Warehouse, nothing ever changes, even with the seasons the collection is predominantly made up of black and grey office-wear, uninspiring tunics and fitted dresses deficient in any colour or pioneering style. It’s quite funny how it can be so reliably un-daring and lackluster yet still draw a large following. I don’t dislike it as much as Warehouse however as every now and again, unlike its consistently insipid high street ally it does throw up something noteworthy such as a recent ‘Digital Galaxy Print Dress’ — a very interesting asymmetrically cut printed dress or occasionally some pleasant occasion wear, but other than that it’s pretty forgettable. What aggravates me is how when they label something as ‘embellished’ by name such as ‘Embellished Printed Shift Dress’ or ‘Embellished Fitted Top’, it just means that they have added sequins to an unadorned design to create something that is hereafter larger-than-life in their delusional mindset. Dublin is bursting with shops selling innovative clothing at cheaper prices. This would certainly be the route I would go down instead of wasting my time within a store that offers such uninspiring clothes.

There’s a certain something about Oasis that I just love. I think it’s that they take what’s best about current fashion trends and incorporate them into the feminine fashion, but generally leave behind the ridiculous and the unwearable. I used to have a slight addiction to buying earrings in Oasis as they do really nice jewelry… finances made me stop, but every time I go in there I’m tempted by something. Their stuff won’t break the bank but it’s not exactly cheap either. This particular store is relatively new and they have shoes, undies and jewelry here as well as clothes. They have promotions here on Thursday evenings. Last night they had cocktails and people doing hair and make up. Very fitting for this store.
