Perfect place for a drink before Croke Park. This bar is a few blocks from the train station and a 5 – 10 min walk from Croke. Great environment before any hurling or Gaelic football event. However, it’s a pub don’t expect a nice the best smells or quick service.

This was probably one of the most uncomfortable bars I drank a pint in, The bartender scowled at me. The patrons are just as friendly! No happy drunks park here! Buzzkill galore!

I recently revisited this bar in Drumcondra and it hasn’t changed in the six years since I was last here and it probably never will and never should. It’s dark and seedy but it’s actually clean and pleasant at times. The staff are super hard and in your face. I remember this one time I got in trouble for kissing my boyfriend at the bar. The barman actually said: «Hey you, none of that!» I was shocked and looked around to see all these old frowning faces. This is one of the last places in the city that maintained the old-time Dublin feel. Caution: the regulars are a little weary of strangers. Just order your pint and try to fit in.
