Anyplace with an excellent beer selection automatically gets a few starts from me. Add to that the good food and decent service. To top it off I like the look and layout of the place as well. The only downside is the show a lot of sports on the TVs, which would be fine if it wasn’t so much soccer, but no place is perfect and they get a 5 star from me anyway.

Good tasting beer and food, a good place to go for a drink and some food before partiying in the city center, the people working there are very friendly an the atmosphere is cool too. A good option if you want to taste the Czech Republic and Slovakian food which is very good.

I had: Chicken chilli Nice spot! We had been craving some Czech food after visiting Prague last year. Our friend suggested Pifko for some dumpling and cabbage goodness and we were very glad to go! The drinks were reasonably priced so my dining companions had cocktails, beer and wine. Some of the more adventurous also tried a Czech soft drink. Casual atmosphere, good hearty food and excellent staff. Location is a bit off the beaten track for me but it’s worth it.

Pifko bar is the easiest way to find out more about Eastern European. I have to say that I really like this small piece of Prague in Dublin. The food is good food, interesting beers, and good service. And all of them for a very reasonable price. The plates are huge, and in the menu you will find some«exotic» options. If I would have to raise objections I would say that the smell of the kitchen comes sometimes out to the restaurant space. I went for the conservative option with the typical pork schnitzel and the apfel strudel, the schnitzel great, the strudel had the incredible touch of «home made». I am not really a fan of sport on the TV, but they do have screens to watch live sports, mainly football.

My favourite pub eatery. The only unfortunate thing is that since they renovated they have removed their amazing club sandwich from the dinner menu. A lovely touch recently has been that they have changed the taps so that they have a continuous selection of local czech craft beers instead of your normal staropramens and zlaty bazants. The staff are extremely friendly and it’s a great place for a drink, food and a sporting event. Highly recommend

Really like this place– good food, great beers, very friendly service! Never left the place disappointed, which is always a good sign for a business. Atmosphere is relaxed and laid back! Visited it a good few times and will definitely come back again!

I am always in the mood to try something new and my decision to try Pifko for what turned into a 3 course meal was one i won, t regret anytime soon. It was very quiet when we first arrived and the waitress was straight over with a smile to see did we want menus. The extensive list of Czech and Slovak beers is very promising and reasonably priced. Our starters included some kind of delicious sausage and a smoked/cured meat platter accompanied with enough rye bread to put jesus and his loaves & the fishes story to shame! Pity the water didnt turn to wine either but what can you do ;) Mains were a pork schnitzel and pork neck for herself. The portions were both generous and the quality wasnt lacking on the plate either. Once mains were finished the waitress replenished my beer and dessert was put on ice for 25 minutes to give our food time to czech into our digestive systems. Once again i cant emphasise the friendly relaxed nature here, there was no rush to get us through the cash register and out the door. Dessert was a marlenka cake & a pear strudel both would cater to anyone with a gravitation towards satisfying their sweet tooth aswell as a glass of mulled wine for herself which should keep her happy until christmas! All mentioned above including 4 pints for under € 75…will definitely be back to experience this little taste of prague right on our doorstep

We just happened upon this pub while wandering in the area. The menu sounded good so we stopped in on a Thursday afternoon. There was only one other couple in there so we had plenty of attention from the waitress. They had a great beer selection — Czech and Irish. I had a fried chicken sandwich with a slaw on it which was pretty good. My boyfriend had a sandwich that had cranberries and some cheese on it. Can’t remember exactly what it was but it was really good. It doesn’t say on the menu but the sandwiches come with a handful of chips(literally like 4 or 5).

Spot on burger and a pint for 10 €. Friendly Czech bar. Bar staff very friendly and cheerful. .there’s also a Unilocal deal for a cheap pint so don’t forget.

Disappointing. This used to be a great restaurant. They started cutting corners to save on costs. They used to have a much larger and more traditional menu. The steaks were large and savoury, now they are pencil thin and lack flavour. The quality has gone down hill and now it’s not good value for money. Pifko is now a candidate for that Gordon Ramsey show«Kitchen Nightmares».

If you’re in a hurry and you want a sneaky snack without the thrills, there’s no better buachaill. We popped in, had the cod wrap(absolutely fantastic), few chips, bottle of beer and we were in and out in 15 minutes. In fact, the kitchen had just closed but the chef had no problem looking after us and the guy behind the bar wasa as friendly as you like. Very, very handy place to know as there aren’t a lot of eateries in the area.

It’s a Czech bar and also claims to be Ireland’s first ‘proper Czech’ bar, whatever a proper Czech bar is supposed to mean is beyond me. They are really welcoming of other nationalities. Great selection of beers, that’s if you have a taste for Eastern European beers. Very reasonable priced, the atmosphere was a lot of fun the night that I was there.
