Polonia was if not the first then certainly one of the firse Eastern European food stores in the city, at the time of opening it was such a strange beast I dared not enter its doors but since then I have plucked up the courage and wandered to feast my eyes on the array of strange yet familiar products offered. The staff are great fun and usually have a smart comment for me about reading the array of newspapers from Poland, Latvia and Lithonia — none of which I can of course read. It doesn’t matter, I do the same thing I do with the Irish Times… look at the pictures and fill in the crossword with bad words I learned when I was in skool

In this little shop you will find mainly eastern European products. There is several similar stores like them around the country. I usually just try out their breads.
