Shanai is a nice little Indian restaurant in Cornelscourt village. The staff are very friendly. They had a deal on of 2 courses including poppadoms and 1 plain naan for € 16.95 each when we dropped in. I had the sag aloo(spinach and potato) as my main with rice. It was all quiet good. It’s certainly not the best Indian Ive ever had but the dining experience is pleasant and I left full :) The dessert menu reminds me of something you see on holiday in the Canaries. All frozen gimmicky stuff like pineapple ice cream served in a pineapple or coconut ice cream served in a coconut. The pineapple one is quiet nice though ;)

This place is amazing. The staff are so welcoming and making you feel like a local every time(even the first time). There is a warm feeling inside which is created by the red and gold décor. The food came in good time and was of more than sufficient amount. So much so when I had finished my rice and had some chicken left, they brought me some more without me asking. When we ordered the waiter advised us wisely on which nan bread to have and what should be enough for us to eat which I found helpful. The menu had an a special deals menu which was quite reasonable as well. I have gotten take away from here many a time as well and the standard of food is as his as if you we’re eating there but in your own home. So if you find yourself tired after work this winter or want to take your partner for some delicious food from a far away culture then try this place or at least add their takeaway menu to your collection
