I gave sin a 5 star simply because it never fails for me. In saying that it is 100% not every ones cup of tea. The music can be pretty funky or a mix of deep house and house but its a good atmosphere. In saying that it always looks a bit rough inside with the locals. It wouldnt be a place to go for a quiet drink but more of a place to really get plastered! They have a € 50 band that gets you in and free drink for the night but it is only at 1 paticular bar in their and it is a bit of an effort. Most nights its only € 10 – 15 in max unless their is a big gig.

Honestly, this place just changed my life. The music and quality of DJ’s there is just awesome. Strictly House, but in all its different flavours. The hosts & Bouncers are friendly and fast and somehow managed to build out a true community. True: you might need a moment longer at the bar because the place is so crowded. It just is so full of friendly people but bar staff does its best to deliver in time. Although the Club is located at the end of Temple Bar gladly not too many tourists are to find there, and if so its the interesting type of folks it makes fun to talk with. I’m sort of tourist myself coming over from Germany regularly. Why? Because of this Place! The Sound-System is Funktion One, the best of the best. To compensate the series of bad comments from the past ther’s 2 things to mention. First not really easy to come in on Saturday especially, a proper selection is key to build up the right atmosphere and it should not be a reason for a bad rating. Search a club thats transmitting on your wavelength instead. From what I see at SIn the expectation is: be open, friendly, tolerant, nicely dressed. Secondly, from what I’ve heard the location has been much more commercial in past days and management has changed in the last 2 years so please ignore older comments. If you’re into House music, this is the place to be in Ireland and this is one of the top places for that Genre in Europe.

Doormen are horrible and ive been refused here with a garda ID saying they only take passport? I dont no but I thought garda ID are always acceptable I always use it going out just incase. Inside is very cramped as too many do be let in. The toilets are down winding dangerous stairs. If you pay € 50 you get a V.I.P wristband but you have to sit upstairs away from everyone and you get a few drinks for free. Music isnt the best. and the one thing I disliked the most was the crowd they let in. Fights everywhere and glass smashed. Wont be back.

I came here once and never again. I’d rather avoid this place mainly because it’s full weirdos, people getting in trouble with the police and the area seems too dangerous. The music was pretty crappy and waaay to loud. Not really into the whole hip hop and remix stuff they play here. Although the club is pretty big inside and super crowded, so much so that you can barely dance since there’s always someone shoving past you every second. The bar service was super slow since it was really packed, and there were spilled drinks on the floor that staff didn’t bother to really clean up. I’d say it’s one of those clubs best avoided.

I hadnt been here in about 5 years. Had been about to go in 6 months ago but we saw the size and make-up of the queue and thought better of it. What sensible boys we were. I was with my mate and his cousin in Peadar Kearneys having a great laugh when closing time came and we had to face the club. We had backed away when we saw the q and another friend had gone in to meet his girlfriend. I tried my best to talk them into going somewhere else. Cillians cousin did and we should have joined her but had to go in and meet the other lads. They were having an awful time. Posers posers everywhere and not a drink in site. You cant walk because you are all packed in like sardines. Oh the bouncers were gits to the lads in front of us. Must have asked them 10 questions. The staff were useless in the bar. Music was shit. Well not my taste. I tried to have a good time– honest. Not many people were dancing and it is hard to do with people walking through the dancefloor. A couple of my mates went for the 50 euro vip thing but we didnt. I was relieved when they told me how long they were waiting for a drink. The girl in the bar made me want to kill somebody she was so rude. I really hate this place after that night. I met some french guys up for the match in there who were complaining how crap it was too. Oh bumped into my first real girlfriend in here. Hadnt seen her in 6 years. That was cool. This is how crap it is. When I went to say hello she said get lost. Until she recognised me. Then we had a great laugh. She said shed had her head melted by the guys in there all night. Had a much better time when we got out of the club. The chinese was 10 times better.

If you fancy something different in Temple Bar, an ‘old skool’ type of club where the doorman look at you like chewing gum stuck to their shoe and the staff/hosts inside treat you like sheep with wallets… I know just the place! I really want to curse and swear a lot here and it’s tough not to but Jesus, lads… have you been in here? YES, they have the big fancy lights that shine up to the clouds and YES they have an over-rated VIP section but along with these come the people who, lets be fair, can’t get in anywhere else for a reason.
I actually avoid the street Sin is on! On one particular occasion, I did use the street, ignoring the 2 scudjahs knocking numerous shades of all sorts out of each other. I struggled to get through the drug-enriched crowd, when a doorman stood on my foot. I light-heartedly said«eh, sorry pal, you’re on my toe» to which he said«any more of that and your barred» Cherish the thought! I have never been barred from anywhere but I may have to write a letter to SIN calling them every so and so under the sun so that they DO bar me just to ensure that no matter how sideways scutrefied I am, I will NEVER enter that hole again. sorry for the rant but I have to say it AVOIDLIKETHEPLAGUE!

Sunday nights used to be m favourite nights just because of Sin — no more as they’ve upped the price from the once free to feckin’ € 10! On a Sunday night! I used to love the music and the professionally mixed cocktails but now it seems that Sin’s popularity has gone to it’s head and has become a commodity nightclub. Shame really.

All right so I went to Sin last Saturday! First thing I have to say is: DON’T GOFORTHE50 € DEAL… it’s a rip off! Here’s the story, you pay your 50 €, get in, cloackroom is included and then if you want to drink you have to go upstairs in the«VIP» area… the bar is as small as the Dawson Lounge bar(the smallest pub in Dublin)… so it takes you about 10 to 20 minutes to get a drink… you’re only allowed to get two drinks(which you do when you know how long it takes you to get to order one)… and of course it’s a bit like a GAA game… you better use your elbows… oh and if you’re a lady, don’t be surprised to get your arse pinched… in this big mess with about 50 lads behind you pushing to get a drink, some get a bit. bold… :-) Then when you finally get your two drinks and managed to get away from the bar(which also a mission with those 50 lads behind you that think that because one person is leaving the bar there should room for 35 of them in the spot you left) you just don’t really stay in that VIP room that has just enough room to hold those thirsty happy people… plus the fun is downstairs… so you want to go downstairs… but you can only bring one drink with you… damn it… so you usually drink that one drink just like a shot and get downstairs… Downstairs is fun, you dance away and then you realize that you’ve finished your drink and need another one… and you remember that crowd upstairs and the 20 minutes during which you’ll have to fight to get a drink… oh and did I mention it’s actually … I don’t really mind, I think it’s fun but some of my ladies friends didn’t quite appreciate the rudeness and getting in fights with other ladies on silly little thing… some attitude! Anyways, you don’t get to drink your 50 €(unless you just stay upstairs all night and don’t get to really enjoy the music which is a huge pity… … because the MUSICISBRILLIANTON A SATURDAYNIGHT!!! I wish more places had that kind of music… R’N’B and Hip Hop charts!!! Great booty shaker!!! I just couldn’t step out of the dancefloor(and obviously couldn’t be bothered to go fight upstairs for a drink)!! I might go back to that place for the craic and the good music! The clientele isn’t the best, very young, ghetto and knacherish(not trying to offend anyone, i’m ghetto and nackerish myself!) and the 50 € deal is a bleedin’ joke!!!

When I first heard of this place, with its alluring name, I just had to check it out! Located off Dame Street, and near the Olympia theatre, SIN nightclub is usually hopping with people! Although it is in Temple Bar, it’s a bit away from the crowded excitement that is usually offered in its nightlife and is mixed in a bit more with Dame Street’s crowd, but SIN has an attractive atmosphere. I love the way this place was designed; it’s very nicely laid out, and there are lots of places to sit. The dance floor was fun and packed! Their bar staff were friendly and relaxed. The music was mostly R&B, and not a huge range at that — so if that’s what you’re into you’ll most likely enjoy your time here! The crowd seemed pleasant enough; mostly mid to late twenties. I’ve heard a lot of comments about the bouncers being excruciatingly rude, but we had no problems at all! In fact, I remember them being quite friendly to us. The walk to the ladies toilets was quite an endeavour in heels, with the narrow, winding metal staircase — but we survived! I thought the drinks were very expensive, but for Temple Bar it’s pretty average, I’d say! They also have a reasonable deal where you pay € 50 for the night; which includes your entry fee, and unlimited drinks(aside from shots & champagne) so I have yet to try that out, but it sounds like a great idea if you’ll be staying there for duration of the night. I would definitely go again in a group! Recommended.

If you’ve ever read any of my other reviews, you will no doubt know that I think Temple Bar is to be avoided. Avoided as one would an oncoming train. But I do like Sin. Considering how big it is, I’m surprised that I had never heard of Sin until I went there. I was expecting it to be kind of shitty and small like a few of the other nightclubs in Temple Bar, but Sin is big enough, comparable in size to The Village, say. It’s strange that I’d never even seen it walking by or anything, as it’s just around the corner from the Olympia. I was there at a student event mid-week, but I’m not sure if it even opens during the week, normally. Least, there weren’t too many people there that didn’t look like they were from DIT on that night(the people from DIT were in fancy dress, so it was fairly easy to spot them). Sin seems to reckon itself a fancy club, with it’s dancing podiums and whatnot, but it seems to come off as a venue that’s trying too hard: it appears to run incessant theme nights. And it’s recently launched some new thing, that I have yet to try myself(and am frankly unlikely to avail of): on one of the nights of the weekend, possibly Saturday, you pay € 50 in, and you get all your drinks free the whole night. Now this might make financial sense if you were going in there to drink all night at a Christmas party or a stag, but I’m the sort who’ll drink 6 cans before I go out, and often bring a nagin in with me. Fifty euro be damned, I’ll stick with a suspicious pint of Blackcurrant, thank you very much. I’ve just checked their website: the € 50 thing excludes shots, champagne and doubles. Wtf? So they charge you fifty beans and you don’t get any shots? And I can understand the champagne thing, but why not doubles? Doubles just means that the poor berk who just paid fifty quid is going to get drunk quicker, while saving the nightclub a small amount of mixer. Ah, I just don’t get it. So, the fifty euro thing aside, Sin is a perfectly decent nightclub.

Cool and busy bar, friendly staff, nice drinks(not too expensive), funky crowd and an all right location itself. As it’s not in the trendy tourist area of Temple Bar, «Sin É» is a good spot to hang out with locals and enjoy your pint whilst watching some stunning-looking people. I like it!

I took my friend who was over from the USA here. As a club/bar the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the décor is chic. The bartenders here are generally helpful and know how to make a range of drinks, the music is very average here so it could do with a line-up of better DJ’s also the Ladies toilets could have done with more of a clean. Other than that it was generally an inoffensive place, just don’t go here with high expectations because you will be disappointed.
