Overall it was good. I wouldn’t call it the best it reminded me of a typical Irish pub. Went because it was in Anthony bourdain’s the layover and decided to check it out. I’d recommend it for the Irish breakfast though I have to be honest to was just ok. I haven’t had any other Irish breakfast elsewhere but I felt like it was something IHOP could serve you sans the black/white pudding. Worth a go if it’s your first time in Dublin.

I came across this pub one day when it was lashing rain and it has since become my regular haunt for a bitta lunch or dinner on a Saturday afternoon. The food is really good and very reasonably priced. The menu has everything on it, italian, chinese, irish etc. There is something to suit everyone. I don’t drink Guinness myself, but my Boyfriend says that they do a nice oul pint! There is always a great atmosphere and buzz about the place whichever time of the day that you go in. It’s never too packed and we’ve always managed to get a seat but the clientele that this place attracts are very pleasant. The bar staff are very chatty too and always greet us when we come in. I would definitely recommend this place :)

Went there on a Wednesday evening to get something to eat before going to the movies. The bar is ok. It was quite quiet since it was a weekly night, the place wasn’t busy at all which was good as we didn’t want to get in a packed bar where it’s impossible to talk or sit. The menu was kinda weird. It’s good to have a lot of choices but they offered Chinese, Italian and Irish food… That was really bizarre. I took the steak sandwich and it was really good. I really liked it.

This pub is well worth the trek outside of the touristy Temple Bar district. Slattery’s was the perfect first stop on my Ireland tour thanks to my flight landing at 7am. A bus ride in and I was ready to start on my first Guinness at 7:30am. Great service, very friendly locals, and in the evenings they have groups practicing their Irish tunes. Their Irish breakfast is text book. I’ll definitely be going back the next time I’m in town.

If you’re looking to escape the debauchery of temple bar pubs, you’ll want to be here. Good music, perfect pints and just the right night time decibels to allow conversations with your company. If you’re looking to escape the south of the river area, this is your place.

Took some Aussie relatives here, it’s a nice atmosphere and great Irish feel to it. Waitress was very nice to us. My relatives had steak and chips, the chips are massive and delicious! I had the ‘Slaney Valley Wicklow Lamb Stew’ which was soooo delicious!!! Bit disappointed with the plainness of the bread that came with it, a nice crusty roll or soda bread would have suited it better. Also… isn’t Slaney Valley in Wexford…;) My mother got the mixed veg soup which was nice, then a chicken lettuce and tomato sandwich. The chicken was spicy so they really should have that detail on the menu, as my mother couldn’t eat it. Desserts were baileys cheesecake which was ok, but the apple pie was amazing! Definitely recommend that!!!

We stopped here on our way to Jameson as it’s only a few blocks parallel. It was an off time(2.30p) and quiet. A few older men watching the horses with their newspapers out. The basis Ham & Cheese on the lunch menu was quite good. The chicken club sandwich was not bad either. Both employees were quite nice to us. We were definitely not looking for a busy pub scene for our quick lunch — so his was refreshing.

How does anyone give this place less than 5 stars? They have a freakin michael collins uniform on the wall and pull down big screens for rugby and soccer games. The guinness is delicious. The jameson is delicious. The bangers and mash is delicious. I love this place. The bad reviewers are probably communists haha. Slattery’s is too relaxing and fun for them and the beer tastes too good for their liking.

There’s a great karaōke here on a Thursday night run by the gorgeous James Brown(really). I didn’t see him gyrate but he fairly knows how to belt out a tune and there’s a good chance that even the shyest of karaōke virgins will be doing the same by the end of the night. Great fun — a great MC — and if you don’t go home smiling and wanting more, you definitely didn’t step up to the mike!

Sunday noon, needed a mighty breakfast, and Slattery’s did the job. It’s a lovely pub but I’ve always felt the furniture could do with some freshening up. There’s sometimes a slightly distressing stale smell, like Neutrodol or something similar was sprinkled all over the fabric about ten years ago to cover the inevitable odour-de-pub. However there’s no faulting the service we got on the day, and the breakfast was decent. The portions are HUGE, we could have shared one breakfast between us easily(but of course didn’t) and the quality was ok. It was really lovely to be in a pub with the more discerning tourists propping up the bar(English this time, murmuring to each other about the football on the telly) and local yokels that are such regulars that they practically blended into the décor. Not the best Irish breakfast I’ve ever had but certainly one of the nicest.

I’ve been here with some of my friends from Denmark, and I wasn’t impressed — I ordered a chicken burger and it was okay, it wasn’t dry. The place seemed very dirty and the service was slow. Apparently she was working alone at 6.15 pm, which I find a bit weird. Because there are so many doors, we also ended up sitting in a draft. Might go back and try their brunch, but wouldn’t bet on it.

Good lamb stew, but they quoted us 4.50 euros for a glass of wine, then charged us 5.50 per glass. When we told the waitress she went to the bartender to ask. He came straight over, and had converted from friendly bartender to a-hole. He insisted that he quoted us 5.50. So after he repeated for about the fourth time I just said fine, if that, s how you’re gonna be we will just pay and never come back. Then when we tried to use our credit card we were told their card machine was«broken». He was obviously lying and just being a jerk. He suggested that if we didn’t have cash we could walk up the block to use the ATM machine. Really!!!

Stumbled upon this place while walking around Dublin. My family and I don’t drink and they were a little worried about the Pub scene since they’re not a fan of bars. It was nice to start them off on a low key pub with such great service! Petra was our waitress and I’d give her 5 stars for sure! Thanks for being awesome Slattery!

We were walking along the streets looking for a place to eat and luckily found this place! The staff was very friendly and took our drink orders as soon as we sat down. They checked back often after we ordered dinner and another round. The atmosphere was a mixture of locals and foreigners, some older and some younger. The location is away from the busy street of O’Connell and across the canal from the temple bar area. If you want a quieter, relaxing place with your meal then this is the place.

Been there once. Ordered a beer. Staff was very unfriendly. Did not order food as intended — finished my beer, paid and left. Well, I might not wear suit and tie, but I am still a customer.

Went to Slattery’s on our day of arrival to Dublin. Got there at 7:30AM, when they opened, on a Thursday. They start serving liquor as soon as they open. Had my first Guinness by 7:40AM and they open kitchen at about 7:45. My daughter and I shared the Slattery’s Mighty Breakfast, which is your typical Full Irish Fry or Irish Breakfast. It was great! Friendly wait staff and the bar tender was very friendly and welcoming.

Slattery was where we stopped in for the one Irish Breakfast of our trip. The place opens at 7 and it looked like people had been there for a while when we arrived at 9:30. The only kind of breakfast they serve is the Irish one, so that’s what we ordered. Eggs, sausage, bacon, black and white pudding and a little toast. For the price, it was one of our best value meals during our trip. A warning, the coffee that comes with the Irish Breakfast is instant and not wonderful. This seems like a decent spot to grab a pint and it looks like they show a good amount of sports as well.

The last time i was in here i joined in a table quiz! i didnt win anything but I had a good time all the same! This looks like a real proper traditional dublin pub and it probably has been around for years and years! Dunno how long its been around but it is most certainly one of the most authentic looking irish pubs on the street. you will get an odd crowd in here, a mix of after work people, people from DIT on Bolton street, some locals and then some people who just happened to be passing by and wanted to quench their thirst for a beer!

Slatterys has that old time feel without being an old man’s pub. The décor is traditional with its chunky wooden tables, tiled floors and big glass windows. This pub is most often busy with a mix of older and younger customers. I discovered it after friends of mine who work in a pub suggested we go there. I think it’s popular with those who work in the service industry. When I was there last night, there was live music. Three musicians, a guitarist and two violinists, were playing traditional Irish music. There was a great atmosphere, really laid-back, it being Sunday and all. Slatterys makes a carvery lunch most days and offers really great service. The bartenders are very professional and polite.
