I’m not usually a huge subway fan, I go for it every now and then out of convenience and it has been a while. I used to enjoy a beef melt every now and popped into this branch in a fit of lunchtime desperation. To put it lightly it was a mistake. I gave three stars because the staff were lovely and they have a couple of reasonable deals but the quality has gone though the floor. Where they used to give a portion of diced beef, which wasn’t exactly fillet to start with, now they serve a reconstituted, frozen whatchamacarcass mess in roughly steak shape which they zap in the microwave and break up onto the sub… It’s awful. Throw that in with a lack of selection for salads and a new sickly sweet sweet onion sauce and you have a not so satisfied Mikey.

Subways are another favourite place for me. I love the Meatball Marinara and as for portion sizes, the footlong sub does me for 2 meals usually lunch and dinner :) All subways are the same which is great.

All Subways in the States smell the same. It’s freaky. You don’t even have to walk into a Subway to know you’re close to one. The smell is so potent, it permeates the doors and drifts down the street and so distinct it is recognizable to even the Subway novice. Some people hate the Subway smell; I secretly love it. As a recent transplant to Dublin, I was wondering if Subways worldwide have the same aroma of «freshly baked» bread and processed lunch meats. I headed to my local Subway to «do some research» AKA«eat a big sandwich.» I was delighted to find the smell is the same! The subs are a by and large the exact same in variety of flavors. The various vegetable and condiment accessories to customize your order were all there, as were the healthy options and the microwaved-chicken options. It was so the same, it was sadly comforting. To speak of quality — Subway is alright. It’s a cheap sandwich and it’s not terrible for you. The best thing is that I can get a large sub and it can see me through 2 meals. Just like at home!

Subway is Subway, if you like it you love it, if you don’t you probably hate it… if you haven’t tried it I seriously advise you do. I write this review as a subway fan… but and this is a big but there is only really one sandwich I like(in fact I love it), the meatball sub is amazing really amazing. The other sandwiches I could take or leave, in fact if I wanted a chicken sandwich or something I would probably just go to spar or elsewhere, as Subway is quite expensive. Free refills on drinks is of course a nice touch. This branch is pretty average comparitively speaking. There are seats which place it a step above alot of subways, but its not really the most comfortable place.
