This place is open til 11, great for us who have to work late. In terms of choice, it’s a bit lacking. I’m particularly annoyed by their lack of Club Rock Shandy, proper granola cereal, or some of the nicer biscuits! They have a good off licence though, nice choice of beers which they rotate a bit. I’d call it more of a Tesco express though. Bewarned that the queues can be long if you go at the wrong time. In general, you’re better off going to the proper checkouts on the left as opposed to the«express» checkout, which is much slower.

Has everything pretty standard that you would need, but I did run around a couple times because the vegetables were split on two sides of one aisle.

This is definitely my favorite supermarket in, and I’ll put it in British instead of english, the whole of Dublin. Large selection, helpful staff, convenient location(though I wish it were a bit closer to where I lived but still within walking distance) and, drumroll please, the best selection of reduced items(meaning big savings of Euros) in town. I go here usually once or twice a week, at least, and always save loads on the grocery budget by going at the right time of day and saving with their always-abundant reduced-item cart/shelves. Whether it’s a huge weekly shopping list that I have, or an even bigger just-moved-to-Dublin megalist, I know that I’ll find what I need here at this Tesco as their shelves are continuously stocked, unlike plenty of other Tescos and other stores around town where I will usually hear the pain-in-the-ass line, «Oh, we ran out … not sure when we’ll get more in.» Buy your snacks here before heading to the Cineworld just down the block and save almost enough to pay for your movie ticket. Until next time we meet Tesco on Parnell, maybe someday you’ll get a real postal address.

This is actually a pretty good Tesco. It’s big and spacious and great for doing your shopping if you live on the north side of the city. I lived in Phibsboro for years and the local Tesco there is quite awful, so it was nice to have this one to pop into on my home from town. There are loads of bus stops around the corner too so you can do quite a big shop and head around then to hop on the bus to wherever you live. I like the fact also that you can just walk in off the street to this store. So many Tescos are in the basements of shopping centres and maybe it’s just my own laziness but that puts me off! This one you can just go in the front door and back out again without any hassle of escalators etc.

The easiest Tesco to get to in town, mainly because you don’t have to go through a shopping centre to get there. Although it’s perpetually understaffed, it’s also usually far less busy than other such stores around the city, which makes it a good place to pop in if you’re in a hurry and need to pick up something for dinner stat. I also got a chocolate and hazelnut croissant thing there yesterday, and delicious doesn’t do it justice.
